Did anyone else notice that at the end of episode one the choices chosen thing that popes up makes brief notice to a bird? Every time I finish episode one I'm told the same thing no matter what I do, that I let the bird die. 1. What bird keeps dying in episode one?, 2. Why is saving this bird so important to the story line that it is noticed as something Max can do? And 3. How do you save it? Seems a little unimportant but it is driving me nuts, I don't want anything's death on my hands in this game.

You need to open window at Chloe's house in her parents bedroom. AFAIK it's only important to get photo-op later near the lighthouse.

Is that so? Thanks, actually I was afraid to go into the parents room. I didn't know if the Step Dad was just coming home from work, or if he was there before Chloe and Max and was hiding out in the bedroom. Is that paranoia, or just playing it safe?

Not actually, I haven't saved any bird (I just figured out you can do that after finishing the episode) and there was a bird I could photo at the lighthouse area.

If you let it in the house, you'll find it in there again later; which is kind of cool. I'm trying ot make them adopt it, as a pet; no idea if it will work, but that's what I am trying to do.

Whats funny is there is a second bird in episode 3 stuck on the 1st floor. You free it to get a picture op, but it doesn't count as a choice.( I guess Joyce gets around to shooing it out of the house if you don't.) I rewinded after getting the picture anyone, because it almost seems the bird would be safer in Chloe's house given all the dead birds outside.

Also how'd the blue bird escape the house to show up for the photo op at the light house, and then fly black to Chloe's house and get stuck in the bathroom?

Yeah he means episode 3, if you saved the bird it's dancing around in Chloe's bathroom.

I assume there is more than one blue bird out there.

I assume there is more than one blue bird out there.

If the blue bird hits the window and dies you don't get the photo op at the lighthouse. I guess you could count it as a butterfly effect: If the bird dies its blue bird friend sits there mourning its friend, but if it lives it flys off looking for his friend.

You can say the the bird is the spirit animal of Chloe, like how the spirit animal of Max is the deer.


This can be said as you are given the opportunity to save the life of chloe over and over, and it is the only chance to save an animal given to you in the game.

The blue Butterfly in the bathroom, is the spirit animal of rachel, as you rarely see it and it is present whenever chloe is about to (or does) die.

We know that the spirit animal of Samuel is the Squirrel as they are always around him and he has a way of 'communicating' with them.

Kate's spirit animal is the Rabbit as it is a symbol of vulnerability, comfort and abundance. She also has a pet rabbit

The Spirit animal for jefferson is the Owl, if you didnt notice, the owl was in two places, the barn, where the dark room was located and at the junkyard where he killed chloe. Owls are considered secretive, like jefferson as he his the secrets of the dark room.

Frank had the Dog as his spirit animal, as he cared about pompidue so much and saved heaps of dogs from the dog fights.


I explained the spirit animals, as if you let any animal die, you would be killing someones spirit animal. You are given the option to have many spirit animals die, such as when you can kill pompidue, when you can kill the bird. You are also able to kill Kates rabbit in ep3 if you didnt feed it.
