Theory: Rachel's Bracelet **spoilers**

How did Frank got Rachel's bracelet?

My theories:

1. Mr. Jefferson aka Mark lured Rachael and imprisoned her in order to make his "Humanity as Tortured" art, just like stereotypical mad artist.
   
2. Mark and Frank somewhat knows eachother.
   
3. Mark eventually got Rachael killed and he had to get rid of her stuff, so he gave the bracelet to Frank

Explanation:

1.Mr. Jefferson aka Mark lured Rachael and captivated her in order to make his "Humanity as Tortured" art, just like stereotypical mad artist.
　　I assumed a lot of people has read a bunch of theories, so I was going to went fast on this one, but I end up writing an essay .

2.Mark and Frank somewhat knows eachother.
3.Mark eventually got Rachael killed and he had to get rid of her stuff, so he gave the bracelet to Frank
　　Frank said he got the bracelet from a friend as a gift. He could be lying, so Let's think about all the possibilities.
　　
　　1.Rachel left it somewhere and Frank found it
　　Then he could just say he found it somewhere, why say "a friend" gave? He might actually get the bracelet from a specific person, but then, who?.
　　
　　2.Rachel gave it to him/Frank is the man Rachel met before she went missing
　　NO WAY. Rachel must had known Frank from Chloe, there's no chance that Rachel would go near Frank
　　
　　3.The murderer/kidnapper of Rachel aka "the friend" gave it to Frank.
　　Perhaps this is the most reasonable explanation of how Rachel's bracelet end up in other's hand. And that "friend", as mentioned above, is Mark.

　　There's another evidence that Mark and Frank might known eachother.In ep 2 If you stay and "overhear" Mark's phone call, you will hear:
　　
　　"Yes..."
　　"We'll talk later ok? I have to go..."
　　"Because I can't have this conversation with you right now, okay? Would you please just hang up the phone?"
　　"Okay."
　　"We'll talk later... Okay?"
　　"Sure, okay..."
　　"Listen, I do have a class I have to teach, I have to go..."
　　"Mm-hmm. Okay, I'll do that..."
　　"Oh, I know. That makes sense..."
　　"Let's talk about this later..."
　　"Seriously, I have to hang up now..."

　　Despite that Mark did have to be in classroom in a moment, this still looks suspicious as ♥♥♥
　　Who was he talking to? Are they up to something?
　　We can assume the person Mark is talking to, is one of the character that has a page on Max's journal, or the story have to introduce new character, which is not likely the case.
　　In the 12 people in Max's Journal, 8 are right in the school, 1 is missing 1 is goning to jump off a building. The rest of people who have to talk to Mark on the phone are Joyce and Frank.
　　Now, if Joyce has some business with Mark, DAVID WILL HUNT HIM DOWN, so it's not Joyce. There's only one possibility left, Frank.
　　Why did Frank called Mark? Maybe Mark owes him money, too? Maybe something went wrong on the whole Rachel Amber thing?

Read the whole "essay" and I really like this theory. It kind of matches with what I'd briefly thought of while playing (Jefferson's phone call may have been with Frank, he's suspicious...) but this was way more detailed.

I keep wondering why the heck Jefferson would even be teaching at Blackwell. My first guess was that he was involved in some troublesome business back in his day (perhaps being too "involved" with a younger girl since he does seem to radiate that vibe...) and had to leave the spotlight to avoid the scandal or something.

I'm getting sidetracked... what I was trying to say was that the whole Jefferson + Humanity as Tortured -art thing... creeps me out. But doesn't seem impossible. One of my favourite theories out there since it, for one, would answer the What happened to Rachel Amber? -question.

well to me it seems quite unlikely. It's still premature to make theories like this, we dont have much info.
And why you think that Jefferson knows Frank? I haven't found a single evidence to support this claim.
Why would you think that he's talking to Frank? No evidence, actually that phonecall gave me feeling that he's talking to girl (because he's voice tone, just my guess). I dont actually think that this phonecall has any importance to story, just a way to make him "busy" preventing him talking to you.
And about bracelet.. to me it seems that Rachel herself gave it to Frank. He first claims that he's got it from "friend". Then Chloe mention that bracelet is Rachel's and he stole it. And he replies that it was a gift. Why couldnt it be gift from Rachel herself? It could. Frank may be had some story with Rachel that we dont know yet and he dont want to let Chloe know about it.
Oh. And if Jefferson wanted to GET RID of evidence, he wouldnt gift it to anyone, that's just stupid.

The phone call is no evidence since we don't know who Jefferson was talking to. I don't see why it has to be someone from Max's journal, it could be someone completely unknown to us, like his wife if he has one. We don't even know if that call will have any relevance. And if it is relevant, and it was someone we know he was talking to... Why can't it be Rachel? You're ruling her out for no reason. Yes, she's missing but she might as well be hiding somewhere, for all we know. And if that's the case, I don't see why she wouldn't reach out to certain people for whatever reasons.

one other thing about mark and rachel is that the black girl with glasses said they had sex. She also got it from a "good source" possible she is freinds with frank and he told her about marks torture.

Frank got that bracelet from kidnapper/killer? Lol, Frank would have been a suspect but he didn`t due to Chloe didn`t say anything about him and Rachel. Theory of "Jefferson killer" can`t be confirmed due to no info: okay Rachel and Mark had sex(good source 100% lol, can`t be sure). What I think personally: "good source" is Victoria, she is realy angry about Rachel(she ripped "Rachel is missing" leaflet) and all this "Rachel is a b*tch" and "Rachel is a wh*re" was possibly written by Victoria(she is the only one female char who is really aggressive and can write such things). And what about campus meeting with man who changed her life it`s strange, anyone could go there, so dunno. Need deeper research/more info.

Firstly, OP, great summation. I like what yer doin there connecting the dots.

Here is my take, this is a choice game, just like with Kate's suicide attempt/success, if your not snooping around everywhere, your going to miss crucial clues.

Undoubtedly at least 1 of the 3 people that you could have picked to blame at the end of episode 2 has something....maybe not full blame, but something to do with rachel being missing.

I saw each person as an archetype.

Harmless teacher

If scooby-do has taught me anything it was that those who appear to be faulty are just that, and you can trust the faultiness.

The over bearing brute is just trying to find his step-daughters best friend.
The stupid thug is just trying to get his way and maybe score some green in the meantime.
The harmless teacher....why is he so harmless? He did say exactly what kate needed to hear to get her to jump....so can he really be that harmless?

And not to mention, if you blame each charecter you get a different end story which will likely get thrown back in your face come ep3.

So do you want to poke the over bearing brute, the stupid thug, or the harmless teacher.
I poke the harmless teacher...because if he is innocent, then i have caused no great turmoil for myself in ep3.

　　Yeah, that "Frank called Mark" theory is just a theory based on a theory, not quite convincible. "The phone call is from a girl" probably makes sense. However his tone makes me think that the people who called him got his weakness and is threatening him.

　　I highly doubt that. There's no way that Chloe didn't tell Rachel that Frank is an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and dangerous. So there is no possible chance that Rachel would go near or hang out with him.

　　That's one risky move. If he is innocent, then we're fine, but he is not, then we are in great danger. The danger from Nathan, David and Frank, is visible, but the danger from Mark(if he's guilty), is not, like an undercurrent.
　　I blamed Nathan because he's not completely innocent and everyone in the game hates him. I guess I will make Max in big trouble in ep 3 :(

W O W. Thank you for writing that essay, as much as I did think it was Mr Jefferson before, I'm 70% sure he is the antagonist now. A lot of work / campus research went into your essay, your english teachers must love you.
But anyway, I do have a question. The writing in the black boxes under your forum post, is it true? Will DONTNOD make a DLC of their teenage years or is that just a theory or something?

Also, what have you to say about Rachel's missing appearance the day after a Vortex Club party? Chloe also went, and I'm SURE she's aware of Rachel going missing right after the party... I mean, wouldn't she be a tttiiinnnnyyyy bit suspicious, maybe she went to the party not only for money but to find out more? Seems unlikely as she never brought it up.

Mr Jefferson is also suspicious because of what he said to Kate before the art class. I'm sure you're aware but he said some stuff like
'Stop acting so brittle'
'Maybe this is your way of getting attention''
'Knock off this martyr crap' martyr:a person who is killed because of their religious or other beliefs.
'I want you to be honest.'

Why is he asking so much of her? Maybe Mr Jefferson was somehow involved and wanted to know what she knew (involving him).. I'm glad I told on him to the principal. The idiot got off the Everyday Heros contest, thank god. #DontSaveJefferson

damn I didn't think of the relation between Rachel's disappearance and the Vortex Club party, I need to dig more. I think you're right, Chloe went to one of the party and was looking for clues.

And Kate, I saw a theory that Kate is one of Mark's victim. The soft voice Kate heard is probably Mark and the white room Kate thought to be ER is actually photo sudio. I was going to add this into my theory but that would made the theory too long.

I mean, other than the obvious possibilities of Racher being dead or abducted somewhere, she might have escaped and be hiding, definitely. And yes, I could see Jefferson aiding her in the escape since they were rumored to be "intimate" with each other, and that's why he gets so uncomfortable with the call.
I think another possibility is that Rachel might have something on him and she's blackmailing him. I'm honestly more suspicious of him than Frank (the way we learned Frank has the bracelet, how Chloe immediately accused him of being involved... I don't know, it'd be way too obvious if it was Frank.) I think Jefferson is definitely up to no good.
