Youtubers that don't rush their playthrough?
Hey guys I was wondering if anyone knows any particular youtuber let's play that doesn't rush through the games content and explores areas.

I'm pretty disgusted when I see people going through episodes in the minimal time possible (Saw one guy get through episode 2 in an hour twenty minutes, when it can easily be almost 3 hours) So far I've only found one guy ChristopherOdd but I want to watch moar!

Anyone? :<

why would anyone watch youtubers when they can play game themselfs?

These letsplayers i've run into all making stupid toilet jokes, horrible comments in serious situations, etc etc. Thats disgusting.

I simply like multi-tasking by having something on my tablet while I'm playing other games.

I have uplaod a lets play of episode 1 (not published yet). it was 2 hours of raw futage. after cutting the bits with copy righted music, i got it down to an hour and a half. i rendered it in 720p (for file size). with my slow american internet connection it took almost 2 days to upload.

so theres a few reasons why alot of people rush these. file size, and video length are probly the main reasons. and upload time associated with a large file sixe.. plus useage policys from the publisher. alot of the time the publisher dosent want you to spoil things in the story. so people rush through the game so that when the veiwers (hopefully) go play it them selves they try a diffrent approach.

so yep thats probly the main reason. oh and people have short attention spans so a long 1.5 hour video may not get as many views as a 20min video on the same subject. overall the content of the longer one may be better, but at the end of the day "Aint nobody got time for dat"

It is nice to see how other people react to the things that happen in games. I have to agree though on the way it seems many of the lets play people play LiS. They just rush from one objective to the next without looking at anything. That's fine, but in a game like this, that style of play causes you to miss so much.

I think the reasons they rush through the game is because they believe their viewers don't want to sit for hours watching a video. It's understandable. That, and because they're not used to playing these types of games. And you're right - in a game like LiS, you need to take your time looking around.

EPISODE 2 SPOILER BELOW

Kate's attempted suicide is good proof of that. If you don't explore her room well enough and find the bible verse, family picture(s), etc - you won't say the right things that prevent her from jumping.

Well, "Gronkh" loves exploring every single detail of a game, plus he won't make stupid toilet jokes, and there are no silly comments in serious situations.
His LiS Let's Play is awesome (Ep1+2 = 15videos = ~8,5h).
But that probably won't help you, unless you understand german language.

farfromsubtle is a Twitch/Youtube Let's Play channel of a couple and their friends who cosplay as characters. Fraser who's the man in the relationship is a professional photographer and A/V buff, so their footage quality and framing are excellent. They split the footage of themselves, game, and Twitch chat to show as much of each as possible. They look in every corner, attempt every achievement and in the case of Life is Strange try almost all the options.

Since Fraser is a professional photographer and huge Twin Peaks fan and because both he and his SO Becky grew up in the Pacific Northwest, they have great insight into this game.

Hey, check out HarshlyCritical. He does nice commentary, no fake reactions or shouting and his playthrough (both eps) is about 5.5 hours.

You guys need to get over yourselves lol. Let's Play videos are meant to be for entertainment purposes and watching some dude crack jokes is a lot more enjoyable than watching someone quietly pondering the deep implications of every single interactive item in the game. Don't get me wrong -- I spend hours on end meticulously going through everything in this game to get the full intended experience but I don't wanna watch somebody do the same for hours. Let's Play are primarily about humor and if there's no humor I don't see why you would watch somebody else play this kind of game -- or any game for that matter.

Believe it or not but I played the Episodes and then watched Gronkh playing them and I enjoyed it like my own play. In essence doubled the time I enjoyed Life Is Strange that way.

Might have to do with getting into age. You start to enjoy things more that are done with time and patient and in a relaxed way and you really don't like to watch screamming and stupid jokes pulling ppl anymore. Taste changes.

Lets play videos are generally for the most part cringeworthy to watch. Most of the commentary is nonsensical and often I prefer to just listen to the game rather than some idiot thinking he's being hip by making crude jokes out of the blue. I do twitch streaming COMMENTARY FREE, however I am also active in the chat. I dont want to use this forum to self promote so if you are interested send me a PM. Ill give you my twitch info.

Why would I wanna watch you play the game when I could play it myself and have way more fun? I always thought the appeal of streaming and Let's Play videos was commentary...no offense, just curious about what makes it interesting.
I agree, I wouldn't stream LiS I stream other stuff, mostly old NES games and some choice modern games. AS well as PS1 and 2 games.

Fair enough :) Might check it out then
You are more than welcome to :)
Though I have had to take a small hiatus the past month but that is ending this week. I hate real life.
