Welcome to Elderfield

Anyone played Graveyard Keeper?
GK is one of my favourite games - any else who played Graveyard Keeper, would you recommend this?

If you want to start a separate topic it's a free world, pilgrim. This one is for people who've played Graveyard Keeper who might, or might not, want to recommend "Welcome to Elderfield".

If you want to take part here all you have to do is buy Graveyard Keeper, play it for a hundred hours or so, then come back and comment. I'll be happy to talk to you about it.
I've plugged over 330 hours into GK, so this and a number of other similar titles, such as We Harvest Shadows, Neverway and Besmirch, make this a pretty exciting time to be a fan of these life/farm rpg sims with horror elements.

Anyway I haven't tried the demo yet, but I'm going to try to make time for it this weekend.

Thanks! Looking at those games now. I was already aware of We Harvest Shadows but it's probably more than I can handle with the first person horror.

I believe some mechanics of this game are similar to the ones in GK (like farming, fishing, etc), but the battle system reminds me much more of Earthbound from Super Nintendo (the equipment and the non-traditional enemies are super cool btw)
I hope this is still relevant to you. I have played GK for like 60 hours (not claiming to be an expert) and the WoE demo for about 25 hours. I enjoy both games, so here is my 2 cents:
WoE is a fantastic game IF you like farming sims and JRPG (turn based combat with an equipment system). WoE farm management is easier than GK, satisfying the demands of the "tax man" is easy and that is the only thing you are required to do with your farm. The JRPG combat system and quests is what the game uses to increment progress.

If you liked GK, and you enjoy SNES era JRPGs, you will like this game. If you dont like SNES era JRPGs, but you are looking to play a GK-like game it is worth giving WoE a shot.

TBH the JRPG combat kinda puts me off, although I used to play plenty of games with it back in the day.

I really enjoyed automating things with zombies in GK, and HATED Stardew Valley farming (and most things about Stardew Valley to be honest) because I'm impatient.

I got thrown a playthrough video on my YT a couple of days ago (MRIZ, who was on my radar after the Sun Haven video) and I'll definitely be trying the demo in the future but ya know, Oblivion Remastered...

WHS and Besmirch have demos on Steam, Neverway has only had a trailer released AFAIK.

Graveyard Keeper has been around for years. You can pick it up on key sites for a couple of dollars. Well worth it, IMO.

Gleaner Heights looks a bit mainstream - it mention a certain 90s gothic TV show, which I assume is Twin Peaks.
