Played almost 20 hours by the time I am writing this review, I got so much more to discover but I really wanted to praise this game

➔ The trailer was an absolute banger, and it convinced me to buy Welcome to Elderfield the moment it launched! That music thooo

➔ I love its creepy atmosphere, but I especially enjoy how the characters aren’t constantly terrified by demonic presences, monsters, or whatever else might be lurking around. They know strange things can happen in Elderfield, which gives the whole game a really fun feel.

➔ The bestiary is vaste! I can't wait to discover more

➔ The music fits perfectly the atmosphere, during combats too

➔ The pixel art is gorgeous and full of detail. There’s so much to explore and discover, with plenty of hidden corners to find. The character art? Incredible. Humans, non-humans, monsters, all kinds of creatures… As an artist, I absolutely adore this art style! The game is charming

➔ The gameplay is really well balanced, too. I’m used to this kind of simulation game, and I love that you can play for hours without having to rush home before your character collapses from exhaustion. Going without sleep for several days does have consequences, but it never becomes a frustrating chore. It makes the game so enjoyable to play. You will always have something to do

➔ The difficulty: You might be struggling at the start but once you get the mechanics, you'll feel like nothing can stop you... almost

If you loved: No, I’m Not a Human and Stardew Valley, then Welcome to Elderfield might be the perfect mix for you, give it a try!!

I do hope in a near future that even more interactions could be added with items/ furnitures or other things you come across during your adventures, I'd love that

Im here to reiterate what others have posted cause i'm in agreeance. First of all there is the core of a fantastic game here. I generally don't enjoy these harvest moon/stardew valley style games because i find them to be a slog but the oldschool turn based rpg combat system in this game made me really give it a solid try. However like others have said mid game everything becomes a slog and growth times of things really need to be adjusted. It becomes tedious above all else. I stopped playing around 37 hours in cause i just have no interest in going back to the loop of doing the same 3 things over and over again. at first the world feels interesting but that all quickly shrinks once you gain a grasp for the world map and it's relatively small size which again all happens around the midgame point. There is a good game here, i just think it needs to be adjusted to address the monotony that hits you like a brick wall towards the end of the old woods.

Honnetly this is an awsome game

however dev did NOT playtest his game at all

the game is just an farm slog and leveling up is ultra slow im only lv 51 at 102 hours, the deep mall dungeon mob almost 3 shoot me

balance is not existant in this game

the grind you have to plane it at the start honestly if you dont want to get cucked. on NORMAL difficulty

im at years 3 almost and i am already planing the ENDGAME gring wish is going to be at least 2 years long since you have to industrialise it howerer your crop are SPACE LIMITED not like stardew valley be warned you will be cucked at the start. and for at least 2 years in game for full crops unlock. minimum

that not an money issue but an cleansing balm issue and at endgame OFC you got an lot of them but they are now useless AF

lot of event bugged sometime saddly, some event almost never reapeat and all

on steam deck it run ok tho so its cool if you wanna FARM offline and in travel like me
man i really LOVE this game way more than stardew valley but at this stat its aint worth playing

the game is awsome dont get me wrong but at this state dont buy / play it.
its just an wast timer but not in the good sens the game do not respect player time. considering how much you have to farm to progress (we talk at least 35/40hours per zone)
hope dev will FINNALLY balance it

for exemple you want to get married (they are an achievement for it) too bad the item is an 3% drop

THIS IS NOT WORLD OF WARCRAFT AGAIN but an stardew valley clone this is not normal considering the item at 3% drop is required for finishing the game and other craft

i will change my review when chris cote will finnaly balance the game but at this stat i am sorry that unnaceptable.

This is not world of warcraft. its an solo farming game.
also they are no voiceover like the trailer spoke wish is misleading.

again good game but full of false promise at this day and unbalanded slop

dev team DID not playtest their game
