If I remember right, the definition of what a furry is is really vague, so probably

Although as long as its not a robot animal version of you you're probably fine

They aren't real animals, so no.

but neither are dragons, nine-tailed foxes or some of the other fantasy species in the Furry fandom. but that's if you meant they aren't real animals, as in they have to be living, breathing, flesh and blood type of animals that you'd find in real life. if you were meaning as in the broader sense of real animals as in they have to be sentient decision-making beings then shouldn't a possessed animal Robot count?

Well it all depends on what you think about it, if you say so that your oc is your fursona then it is. Do not let haters get you, btw, i know it's pretty common for a furry to be insulted (I know it myself)

It's only a fursona if you consider that it is. Typicaly, you indentify yourself through that character, if it's a fursona. It doesn't mean you want to be an animal, just means that you gave that character personnality traits and/or physical traits that you can identify to.
If it's just some character that you feel as not important to you, it's most probably not a fursona. An original anthropomorphic character isn't necessarly a fursona, just can be a character that you designed and like and that's basicly it.

Btw, it's quite cool! Nice character!

thanks. I'm proud of the way he turned out. and thanks for all your replies everyone I honestly didn't think this Discussion would get this much attention.

Not if you do it right.

Dress the character modestly if it wears clothes, don't sex it up, keep boobs off if it's female, and make sure that it clearly looks like a machine. Do that and you will stay fur free.

Also, the name gives a hint: Fur Persona indicates it's a self-insert or is supposed to be or represent you. Given that this OC is a machine in the video game, making it you would be nonsensical.

I also saw your picture. Did you draw that by hand? If you did, well done!

ya, that makes sense.
and for the art. I used a free base I found online for the basic shape. but all the rest is done by hand.

here is the base if you want to use it.
