Seriously play SF4 for a while then go back to SF3. Even if you're not rusty on parries, you'll get bodied.
You just have to remember to do full stick movements for Yata. It was made to be strict on purpose, both to preserve the retro feel and to prevent the player from throwing stuff out unintentionally. It's actually a really good thing.
But yeah I'm using a HRAP VX-SA and there's no execution issues on my end. You just need to retrain yourself to do clean inputs instead of shortcuts, and get some muscle memory going with your links.
Practice makes perfect!
Just take it easy and make sure you hit all the directions required.
Do the commands slowly a few times then speed it up.
Actually feels about the same as KOF now, I'm with you on SF but KOF is no EZ mode I don't think most people woudl say it is.....I guess the "digital xbox controller" option or whatever it's called was really messing me up. I actually feel like this game is pretty shallow tbh. Really disappointed at the effort put into certain aspects, mirror characters and moves, and poor stage design. Hopefully they update and make it better I'm all for more people entering the 2D figher market.
Also, the reason it's easier to do a crouching light into DP in older KoF is the very huge amount of hitstop those games had since they expect you to be able to confirm off of a single hit. Yata's hitstop is closer to 3S, but 3S had DP shortcuts so it was a bit easier to get it out, but still pretty difficult from a light normal.
