I havent played for a while, about 2 years. The game has changed a lot, but what I've seen is that there are less players playing. No live games or people joining in battles.

So, did it die?

It never was alive in the first place. Introduction of Law mode splitted community in half and showed that developers have zero integrity and care for their player base, and subsequent lack of any Snapshot involvement (being busy with Phoenix Point) hit the final nail in the coffin.

I disagree, it was alive. Either because of Law or Chaos mode.
I remember having always somebody joining my matches, or having several live games going on.

There isn't really the numbers for regular live action games, the bulk of multiplayer is pretty much async games (similar to how Frozen Synapse is).

Biggest problem is it just isn't that good, the original is superior.

They messed up with the tiny, multilevel maps where the square playing field was perfect.

I just tried to play a single player realm again after 6 months to get some achievements and I just can't be bothered.

It is a poor remake of an amazing game..

There are a couple of hardcore players that are still around, but from fuzzy memory you won't stand much chance as you level up in multiplayer.

So you'll be just starting and they will be fully loaded.
