Game asking for Disk 1, won't start.

I downloaded (and re-downloaded) the game off of Steam and it keeps asking me to insert Disk 1, which I obviously don't have. Does anyone know of a solution?

This usually happens if the game was not installed properly. Try running the game in compatibility mode or re-creating the installation directory as outlined in the following FAQ:

The key is to run both the setup executable and game engine in compatibility mode. If that doesn't work let me know and I"ll see if we can put our heads together to resolve the problem. Some of the older Nancy Drew titles can be quite tempermental with newer hardware. But, I've gotten all of them to work on Windows 10.

I tried getting it to run in compatible mode, but there's no place where I can do that. The game still asks for the CD to be inserted, and I don't have that! Any other ideas?
