This is our very first post! Pirate Privateer is now \Coming Soon\ on Steam. It's a 1600s pirate game about your crew, their stories and the seas they sail. If it sounds like your kind of voyage, please add it to your wishlist. It helps us more than you might think.

Here's what we've built for version 0.4.0.

• A storyteller AI that paces each voyage through calm, pressure, crisis and recovery

• Difficulty presets built on the storyteller

• Threats that grow with your wealth and infamy

• Named enemies who remember you

• Event chains instead of one-off random rolls

• See your crew's moods and thoughts at a glance on deck

• Rivals come to blows on deck; friends stand by each other

• Scarred veterans, and a memorial for the crew you've lost

• Export and share your voyage's chronicle

• Four ways to start: privateer, merchant, shipwreck survivor or mutineer

• A world that changes from seed to seed

• Ironman mode and challenge seeds

• A Character Creator for Story Mode

• Sandbox mode settings

• Steam Workshop support: upload, subscribe and update

• A mods folder, with nearly all game content now data-driven

• A modding guide and an example mod

• A universal Back button (right-click works too)

• Fixed the follow screen moving up with the card

• Sea combat overhaul

• Art overhaul: moving to baked 3D, with new port visuals

• UI/UX pass: one shared style, consistent font and button sizes, a new game menu and a reworked Character Creator

• Crew screens: simpler Jobs, clearer Articles for/against

• See your fame and infamy with each faction

• A UI bar showing where your ship is at sea

• Barnacle scraping: gameplay and visuals pass

• Proper loading screens

• Fixes: timestop now covers parallax layers, stars hide during the day, and the "=>" icon is gone from the menus

We'll keep sharing progress here as we head toward releasing our first Demo soon. Wishlist and follow the game so you don't miss an update.

Fair winds!
