It also makes it possible to visit two places at opposite shores that would otherwise be impossible to loot.
The rudder probably makes a big difference in how quickly you can turn the boat around, so you might need that to really take advantage of the motor.
I srill unable to turn in anywhere maybe someone should do a tutorial video "how to"
Do you use a controller or mouse and keyboard?
It'd be nice if these descriptions were more specific: why is the water collector better than just keeping some spare jars to fill with rain?
I managed to record a video with shadowplay, only to find that I have no youtube account, and steam doesn't allow for direct uploading.
So I made a gif, but after an hour of fiddling to make it work well, that can't be uploaded either. Steam seems to have some serious issues with uploading images to artwork, because it just keeps loading.
After playing a little with keyboard, I found that it's a bit harder to turn the raft easily.
If you left click to steer too far left or right it might reverse the input and steer backwards, so you have to make the turn gradually.
You do this by pointing the mouse a bit further away from the raft, maybe 2-3 raft lenghts away, and clicking the left mouse button all the time you make a smooth cirkle.
When the raft has turned so it crosses over the stream, you click and hold the motor button (shift), and you boost the rest of the turn.
Without using the motor in the later stage of the turn it's really difficult to not have the raft go backwards down stream.
Again, I'm sorry for no video. If this doesn't help you I'll make a youtube account and upload a real video.
How does this work with the controller? Which botton controls the motor?
I haven't played in a while, but if you still need help I recall that it's the sprint button.
You'll need gas in the tank for it to start though, so getting more jars and stockpiling gasoline is a good idea.
With a rudder it's only really needed when you want to go up river for some reason.
You know I kept wondering if I was using it correctly because it didn't seem to be any different than the rudder. I actually posted a question about it because I never ran out of gas which I figured was a bug. No one ever responded to me. Now I know!
