I have the same issue on PC, when i click on "Play" from Steam a message instantly appear : it says "RiverGame-Win64-Shipping.exe" don't respond ! It's borring :/
I will be thankful if someone have a solution !
My computer is win7,64system. Besides, the DirectX and vcredist were all installed.
Hope shooting this big issue quickly!
For PC users, have you tried the .dll fix in the pinned thread in the main discussions?
My Console reports the following during this process;
Specs;
Mid-2010 MBP (MacBookPro6,1) w/ 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 512 MB, running OS X 10.11.3
Please advise if you need any additional information to resolve this issue.

have the same problem. The game won't start, only the RiverGame icon appears for a few seconds, then it exits silently.
Also Mid-2010 MBP 17", 8GB RAM, 512 GB HDD, NIVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 512, running OS X 10.11.3

Game launches on my wife's early-2011 MBP (MacBookPro8,3) w/ 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, AMD Radeon HD 6750M, running OS X 10.11.3
Still does not launch on my mid-2010 however (see first post in thread).
Please advise…

Would repurchase when the game is ready to be played...
Also, if you could check your save game location and see if anything is being generated there, it would be helpful. They can be found here:
/Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Epic/Rivergame/Saved/SaveGames/
Library is typically hidden, so you'll need to go to finder -> go -> go to location... and specify at least up to /library/ in the path.
