Can't move

After talking to an NPC, I can no longer move my character. I am in a farm area, I think the NPC's name is Helen. I can still kind of get around by right-clicking on objects, but other than that I can't move. Is this going to happen every time I talk to an NPC? Should I just avoid them?

I'm having the same problem. I'm stuck in the porch area of a church/building. The character is completing the run animation, but does not move out of the porch. Since I'm over fifty days in on this endless run, it's kind of annoying!

Any tips on how to get her out?
