Nancy Drew: Curse of Blackmoor Manor

Nancy Drew: Curse of Blackmoor Manor

16 Bit Color depth
So I just bought this game the other day, and when I initially started up the game, it only showed 1/3 of the screen, even when I changed my resolution to a smaller size that I found was recommended often online. This did nothing, and now when I start up the game, it tells me that I can't play it because my color depth needs to be set to 16 bit rather than 64 or 32. I can't even do that through Windows 10, as it was a feature they removed starting in Windows 8. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was really excited to play the game again since it was my favorite as a kid and it's been so disappointing not being able to.
I also have no problem running literally any other game on Steam. I have a pretty good processor and all of my drivers are up to date.

I had this same issue, but I found a solution!

1. Right click the .exe to the game and then click properties.
2. Click over to the compatibility tab!
3. Click the checkmark to "run the program in compatibility mode for:"
3a. Chose "Windows Vista"
4. Under settings, still in the compatibility tab, check the checkmark for "Reduced Color Mode"
4a. directly under the checkmark, make sure the dropdown box says "16-bit"
5. Under the drop down box, check "Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution"

This should fix this issue! If all else fails, try running as an adminstrator!!! I hope this helps :)
