Then right click on Game.exe go to properties and change the compatibility mode to Windows 7 (atleast that worked for me!) or try other versions available, hope it helps!
SAVED MY LIFE!!!
Do you mean to adjust the compatibility mode? You would go to File Manager on your computer (there's often a shortcut on the task bar at the bottom of your screen, of a file folder). From there, access your C: drive (usually labelled as Windows (C:)). Double-click that drive, then scroll until you see the folder labelled Steam. Double-click, then scroll down to the steamapps folder. Next, open up the folder named common, and then select the game folder (in this case, Nancy Drew Curse of Blackmoor Manor). Then continue with the instructions given (right-click on Game.exe, select the Properties tab, and midway down or so you'll see a drop-down menu for different Windows compatibility options).
Do you mean for changing compatibility? If so, see my above post, I've provided them there. :)
