Overall size: Units and Map
Goodafternoon all, I was hoping to get some input regarding how people feel about the size of the Units and Maps. The former bothers my OCD a little bit, but lets get started.

-Maps
Is it just me, or are these the biggest maps you've ever played for a base building rts? Honestly, I like them as that the enemy base is never just a walk down the street compared to CnC 3 matches. However, I am finding it hard to create a safety net between my base and the front lines due to either spreading my units thin or clumping them all at a bank, crossroad, bridge, etc. which leads to many an infiltration.

-Units
The unit size makes sense 8 out of 10 times, others its just a bit baffling. Most notably when the comparison is done side by side between 2 different units. Mainly the Abrams (US) and the Terminator (Chimera). It doesn't take someone with an engineering degree to decipher that M1A2 Abrams are BIG TANKS. Yet, the BMPT "Terminator" is based on the much smaller, slimmer chassis of the T-72. The tanks are similar in width and the BMPT towers above the Abrams, even with its upgrades. Does this need fixing? Also, units in general seem to be a bit on the miniature side compared to the terrain but I think that was done in a previous patch to improve performance.

So thoughts?

Mmm... If you check the specifications for Abrams and BMPT - they are not realy different in size. But Terminator is actualy notably higher when measured with the turret.

I'm really enjoying the large maps. It's making for some fun dynamic matches. Also, it's a bit more realistic in terms of having a large battlefield with no definitive front line, at least in modern combat. I will say, though, it makes for much more complex game play!

Abrams is just looking larger because of it's awefully oversized turret and angular chaisis. Once again jeck the official specifications. Their real size is not realy different.

I agree they are similar on paper. In game, the height difference just seems a little off. But whatever its not a big deal. Wouldn't mind abrams getting a little size boost anyway.

I agree completely! It is like you are given a square section of countryside and being told "Make a battlefield out of this!" instead of being given a battlefield and being told "You will battle here!". I like how it takes from Wargame in the sense that roads and bridges are important. But sometimes it feels like theres even more freedom about it, especially after realizing how essential it is to contruct outposts to cover those flanks. In Wargame, some cross sections were so important, you couldn't afford not to take them.

The maps are indeed quite large--probably 2 or 3 times bigger than those found in your traditional RTS. Do I have a problem with that, though? Not necessarily. If anything, it's refreshing and results in a very unique pace.

I'd like some smaller 1v1 maps. Duels work better on small maps than huge ones.

Idk I feel like atleast the Walk Through the Valley of Death is a duely map. No doubt that more of them should/will be added though.

I'd actually like to see some stacked/asymmetrical maps for comp stomps. Beach assaults, city invasions etc. The current batch of maps, though fantastic, feel very symmetrical. I know most people love symmetry for online but I've always loved a more natural/realistic map :)

Kaiser, you read my mind. Earlier I was trying to get a 3v1 orchestrated amongst me n 2 easy allies vs a harder opposing force to see the results. Sadly, a square symmetric map didn't make for an organic team based battle. Hopefully we'll see community made maps *hint hint! Eugene*
