The first time I played, I was stuck at the second part of the chamber 02, having played three hours. I didn't want to watch a walkthrough, so I gave up.
Long time after, I decided to retry and it was more easy for me. It seems that I needed to step back.
Portal Stories : Mel is harder than Portal 2, it's a fact, but not too hard, even if sometimes it reminds me The Talos Principle.
For me, some puzzles are difficult because they are composed of several rooms and they need to carefully observe them, their layout, their switches. It's necessary to try some manipulations, even if they fail. And it's also necessary to try to visualize how to solve them.
Some puzzles took me more time to solve than with Portal 2, my progression was not as fluent.
I still don't have finished the mod but I'm close to the end and I must admit sometimes I want to give up, some rooms discourage me and I wonder how many of them remain.
Even if some of us don't find this mod harder than the original game, it demands more mental efforts for me.
Don't hesitate to make a pause and then come back later, several days later if necessary. That's what I do and what I did with The Talos Principle, to avoid being too discouraged.
It's been fine for me past that, though.
Renfrew : I agree, that's why it's sometimes necessary to try manipulations if the logic of a puzzle is not clear.
Once the mod finished, I'm not sure to play it again later, some puzzles were difficult to solve for me and I already forgot how to solve them after few days.
This is the same problem with the Talos Principles, I finished the game once and today I'm not enough motivated to play the add-on or play the game one more time.
