But considering it's free I don't see the issue, and it is a lot of fun.
Is basically a game made by Real fans for the fans
But I don't think that just because not Valve made it, and it's not official it could never become canon!
If it doesn't conflict with the allready told lore, and it gets the tone right, and the creators don't have any plans that would contradict the mod's story there could be a potentiial for that story to become official canon

I mean think about it... all it would take is Valve making an official statement that from now they concider it canon.
It's not likely to happen and I don't think they would ever do that but It would be really cool from them to do so tough...
