Did the original version have freelook?
I don't recall being able to look up and down with the mouse or am i wrong? Is there a way to reset all keys including controls as the original had?

No it didn't. Though you could look up and down with keys, just like doom, heretic, and such.

Indeed you couldn't freelook with the mouse. This was changed from the vertical mouse movement being used for foward/backward movement in the original (often refered to as scooping). As scooping is a rather impracticle way to move around, this was changed to camera movement. While you can disable mouse-looking in the mouse options, there is no option to re-enable scoop movement.

Doom did not have freelook, keyboard or otherwise. That was introduced in Heretic.

Derp yeah. I keep forgetting that because Later versions of doom incorporated it as well.

Um... no, it was source ports that included freelooking. What are you on X_X

Nope. Heretic did[doomwiki.org]. Hexen was built off of Heretic and Strife added it as a matter of course (remember Quake was out at the same time). ZDoom added it because Hexen had it, so it because a Doom mainstay from there.
Doom orignally did have Y-shearing (the function of freelooking in Doom's renderer) in the early alphas with the camera "pitched down" marginally, but moved it back to center later, which is where Heretic & Strife get it form.

One of which was an official release... Aka DOOM 95. Hence my comment.

Actually, no official release of Doom has added freelook, including/especially Doom95 (which was just a Windows port of 1.9 with some slightly extended limits).

... Except maybe Doom Classic on iOS? I can't verify that, though.

The version I bought from Walmart sure as hell had it.

Don't know what to tell you, but Doom95[doomwiki.org] never had freelook. Either it was a bootleg using an unoffical source port or you aren't remembering it properly. All official Doom releases are pretty well documented[doomwiki.org].
