Game doesn't start

Just installed the game and when running it it doesn't even start (I got the store pop-up once as usually happens when closing a game). I cache'd the files and nothing. And before touching anything else i checked the game's folder to find crash report files such as

grimfandango_2117156_crash_2015_1_27T12_38_11C0

Any advice?

UPDATE:
Got it to work. Just updated my nvidia driver and it launched fine.

Game runs fine for me on Windows 8.1 x64. I would suggest adding the Name and Version of OS, at least, to learn if there is a pattern to this issue in that regard.

I also get the crash files. This works around it for me:

Find the game files and just double-click GrimFandango.exe outside of steam. Note it will not connect to steam or give achievements.

(To find the game files: right-click the game in steam games list, Properties, Local Files tab, Browse Local Files.)

What does the windows event manager say?

I could not launch it until I quit my screen overlay MSI Afterburner. But that is quite common and happens with a lot of games for me.

+1 for game not launching. Windows 7. Latest steam release. Computer meets minimum requirements.
