Because apparently some see DRM like an additional feature! :trolol:
Things like Tages or GFWL ofcourse not, but I have the feeling you were trying to be passive aggressively sarcastic and refer to Steam in such a way.
In which case, sure, I'll take Steam over GoG anyday.

- Trading Cards (Which equals steam wallet from selling, up and over $200 just from all of these so far)
- Achievements (Same with GmG and Playfire, several hundred dollars credit there too)
- In-Game Steam overlay for web browsing/Chat (Alt tab actually breaks alot of GoG games, can't wait till they get Galaxy up and running)
- Integrated friends list and the aforementioned chat which negates the need for a third party program
- Steam Workshop system for ease of use in modding (Obviously not for this game however)
- Having my 1500+ games all neatly accessible and searchable from one list in an instant rather than having to manually check all my drives to see if I even have something downloaded, let alone installed.

I'm a Gogger since day 0 (remember they let you pre-make an account before they even launched) with 90 games there, but having a client like Steam is just so much more intuitive and has greater features. They seem to have realized this with the Whole Galaxy thing which I can't wait for.

Uh, honestly, if GoG had the same library as STEAM on a game by game basis, I'd go with GoG. Why? Because GoG has a great policy about making sure even older games work on newer hardware and have it pre-patched and working for you when you download it.

Meanwhile, Valve is selling a lot of older games that won't even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ work on newer hardware and they have not made a single attempt to make sure it works when you buy it. At the very least they could have had a standard the required developers to make sure it was properly patched and working before selling it.

Also a majority of GoG games, I can just play, on any platform, their lack of DRM is refreshing. If I verfied my Steam account once on a PC, I should be able to play installed titles on that PC peroid without having to 'check in' every once and awhile with their servers.

Don't try and pretend GoG isn't better then Steam, they are, they just can't compete with the library. If they could, Steam would be dead in the water. Stuff like Trading Cards and Achievements don't crap compared to low prices and games actually working like they should. And junk like workshop is just on platform modding, it could still be done outside the GoG platform, same with friends lists.

DRM free and cheaper. You'd be pretty dumb to buy it on steam.
You're pretty dumb to think just because a game uses steam it automatically makes it have drm. Plenty fo drm free games are on steam, you can even uninstall steam after downloading them and they will still work fine.

No, just no, you're completely wrong. Steam is DRM.

Indeed. And if their store is down (e.g. overload on a big sale) you are out of luck. You can't even get to your account to download your oh so DRM free games.
I see what you're saying, but you cannot argue that a game that features DRM is better/worth more/justified to be sold for 26% more than a game which is not DRM.

Has anyone tested if it has DRM on Steam though? There are a lot of games that only use Steam as a download client and don't require it further.

Okay this is just ignorant. Steam is is not DRM, it's a game manager/downloader/purchasing platform and not much else. The DRM functions of Steam are purely optional for the developer. So really, it's Double Fine's fault if the Steam version has DRM, which I'm just assuming it does or else this argument would be the most pointless ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ever.

To test if it actually even has DRM just try running the executable from the game directory with Steam turned off.

Also did they decide not to give this game cards? I could swear it showed up on the store page earlier.

Not yet ready but coming.

Even though GOG version is much cheaper, I propably buy it on Steam. GOG doesn't offer Paysafe payment for Finnish customers.

15$ everywhere, a DRM free copy and a steam key.

Again. This kinda leads me to believe no version may actually have DRM, as Humble has a tendency to just use it as an advertising gimmick, rather than there being an actual difference between their version and the Steam version. Has this been checked yet?

Steam have a 30% profit margin on all games.
This is not the doing of the publisher.

This is the doing of the area in which it was bought. Where I live it's the same price. Where others live the price is different.

Why you believe GoG doesn't take a cut I'll never know.
KENJI 27 jan, 2015 @ 17:10
i just bought it anyways ... 15 bucks well invested for a nice adventure game. yeeehaaaw :bbamsmily:

So I've got the game now and I can definitely say that it is DRM free, seeing as I was able to exit steam, move the game onto a USB drive and then run it from there. The fact Steam never mentions this, when it's generally used as a marketing ploy by other retailers, is kinda baffling.

Anyway you get trading cards and achievements on the Steam version. That's the bonus of getting it here. Sorry to all the people who end up getting charged more because of where they live but this happens all the time on Steam.:conwayshrug:

The GOG version is roughly £1 cheaper in the UK, after you convert currencies.

If that's "much cheaper" in your world... crikey.
