Grim Fandango is well worth the €5. It has a unique art style, very creative puzzles and outstanding humor. If you enjoy PNK games in general, you won't be dissapointed by Manny... or any other of the LucasArts Classics in general for that matter.
And do yourself a favour and buy the soundtrack edition: 1 hour of the great music from the game.
Just rebought game and it seems to run nicely on win 8.1 and it does support widescreen.
If still in doubt, check out this video on Yotube:

(always a good idea when considering yet another purchase).
And if you buy: Have a great time with one of the best adventure games ever made: A True Classic. ;-)
