Should I play in Spanish?

It IS a game based on Dia de Muertos. However, I'm prejudiced against Spanish video game dubs, because it is always "Spanish" Spanish, never "Latino" Spanish. I decided I should overcome my prejudice with this game. So, are the translation and voice acting good?

All the players I know played it in spanish on the original release, and as a classic it has become, we love and remember Manny's voice in that particular version. Anyway, the "Día de los Muertos" is a mexican tradition, so I think it's really unfitting that the game has European Spanish in a Mexican setting, it's dumb! They should have done it in Latino!
My recommendation is, play it in the original english that the game was meant for. Translation and voice acting are good, but they do not "play along" with the mexican athmosphere, while the original voices DO, noting the accent that the developers gave to the characters!

Siendo mexicano, si he oido varios chistes de argentinos siendo narcisistas (por que sonrien los argentinos cuando ven un rayo? Porque creen que Dios les esta tomando fotos con flash!).

Gracias por tu opinion. Me sorprende que los doblajes de juegos siguen siendo espanoles cuando los doblajes latinos son considerados los mejores del mundo. Puedo hablar por horas sobre el doblaje espanol, pero todo se puede resumir en dos palabras: "Onda vital".

Siendo mexicano el doblaje en castellano me gustó mucho, la voz de Domino como argentino es bastente graciosa.

La verdad es que el doblaje es muy bueno, pero está en "castellano", aunque no se note mucho, pues Manny tiene la voz de una persona común y -al menos por mi parte- nunca lo sentí españolado, igual Salvador tiene una voz neutral, y otros personajes igual no es de gran impacto el acento que le dan, aunque se nota más cuando habla Domino u Olivia, ellos si tienen acento argentino, lo cual, lo hacen más característico y un poco más creíble al basarse en la cultura mexicana. A quien si vas a encontrar muy muy mexicano es a cierto personaje que si mal no recuerdo, está en el año 2 o 3, tú, siendo una persona mexicana encontrarás a la voz de "Chepito" muy parecida a la de el gran Mario Moreno Ivanova (exacto, Cantinflas. Bueno, al menos yo creo que su voz se parece mucho, ya que "hablan y no hablan" ).
Siendo sincero todo depende del jugador, pues hay muchos que prefieren la versión en inglés (me incluyo, ya que me gusta escuchar a los ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ decir unos cuantos mexicanismos), no obstante, la versión en español igual es buena opción
P.D: Aclarando tu duda de por qué tanto juego al español España... Las empresas buscan a los mismos tipos de personas que de los que traducen (siendo muchas de estas españoles, ya que si te das cuenta los subtítulos al español en varios juegos tiene sus palabras clave) entonces, el doblaje tiene que quedar casi como los subtítulos y porque supongo, es más barato pagar por un doblaje que lo caracteriza entre 1 o 2 países que al de toda América Latina, aunque igual, tampoco nos prestan mucha atención a nosotros.
Otra razón, más corta, porque en ese tiempo lo habitual era hacer las voces en España y... Porque quieren mantener el doblaje de la versión original.

I'm English, so bear with me here, but I'd say you should just go with the English voiceovers. From what I can tell, the Spanish dubs are simply a translation and nothing more. The actual English voices have the proper accents.

Just open up the game, pause it with Escape, and go to Options. It's towards the middle of the menu, use <- and -> to change to other languages.

El doblaje en español esta muy bien realizado, me encanta las voces en español, mas que es el idioma que lo he jugado la primera vez y bueno, la nostalgia jajaja
Pero Esta muy bien hecho, igual, como son todos los muertos, tranquilamente puede haber con otros acentos.. bah, eso creo yo :P

No seas racista y juégalo en el idioma que te dé la gana. Personalmente lo único que no me gusta del doblaje en español es la voz de Domino, el acento "argentino" que le ponen es más falso que una moneda de tres duros.

Resident Evil 4 gave latino accent to spanish hillbillies, which turned the game from a supossed survival horror into an unintentional comedy...Videogames...That being said, games and movies should be experienced in their native language, its a north american videogame? hence, english...Besides, north americans know latinos better than spaniards will ever do (Half of my family is from Spain, the other half from Argentina, but i was born in Florida, i know what i´m talking about, no racial agenda here).

Besides dubbing generally flatout lies, i know this cause i view different shows and play different games in both spanish, latino, japanese and english versions...as soon as they get dubbed out of their original language, they lose their identity. Regardless, ppl are free to mess with the settings, publisher cared to make it as accesible as possible for ppl that can't be bothered with that basic thing we learned long ago called "reading".

El idioma que esta doblado es español de españa, pero hay personajes que tiene acentos distintos, por ejemplo hay un personaje con acento argentino al comienzo. Igualmente prefiero 100% en ingles, porque ademas tiene cosas en español latino :D

I'm from Spain and I say without any doubt PLAY IT IN ENGLISH.

El magnífico guión de Tim Schaffer pierde muchísimo en la traduccioón, la cual no es muy buena. Muchos chistes están mal traducidos. Las voces del doblaje al castellano no están mal PARA FINALES DE LOS 90 que es cuando apareció el juego. En cambio el doblaje en inglés es magnífico, Tony Plana el actor que pone voz a Manny está soberbio y la mezcla que hace de inglés y español hace al protagonista mucho más mejicano que con el doblaje castellano.
