Anyone else unable to use fire extinguisher?

After I throw the bone into the water I can take out the fire extinguisher but can't use it until precisely right after the beaver has dived into the water...

Are you using it on the beaver... or clicking the circle right above the inventory suit in the right corner? you need to have it going well before the thing jumps. If that doesn't work, maybe you can try using the infamous "tank controls" and using keyboard to activate?

i discovered by accident that you have to stand in precisely the right spot in order to have time to get the fire extinguisher out after throwing the bone and before the beaver takes the jump off the cliff. when entering the area, instead of walking to the edge of the water following the "plus" icon, walk to where the "action" icon says, which will put you in this spot. Manny will do a strange turn, and after that you are free to throw the bone into the "water". then get the fire extinguisher out and just press the button that zaras mentioned (the "use" button above the inventory icon) and the beaver will literally jump straight into the stream.
