The game fails to reset the dash state and player facing direction when dying, restarting or continuing to the next level. I have used the glitch myself (sometimes accidentally) when playing the game. It's helpful, since you can dash into a hazard to start the next attempt dashing, which saves time over dashing at the start of an attempt.
