Feedback: Infinite time at 4am spoils the game
So I'm enjoying the game quite a lot, but the 4am mechanic a) makes no sense, b) messes with the pacing and c) trivialises the difficulty of the game.

This game desperately needs a daily time-limit, like stardew valley. It would be really simple to implement - warn the player an hour or two before 4am that they need to go to bed. If you don't, you pass out whereever you are, waking up the next day at one of your houses but with a negative effect, e.g. you were robbed (e.g. some of your cash taken).

I know some people who use it as a crutch will disagree with this, but I think this feedback is important and the game would be vastly improved if this mechanic was fixed.

... so don't use it. Sleep 1 hour after it hits 4 am.

The daily limit of Stardew Valley was probably one of the worst things about it.

I would rather time just keep ticking like normal, no sleep required, rather than fall over unconscious because the game said I was too sleepy. We're making meth and coke for crying out loud, I think I can manage to stay awake.

Ok? So if your character has taken meth or coke, perhaps you no longer need sleep that night. But time should still pass normally into the next day. The 4am freeze sucks.

Awful suggestion, because the player shouldn't be responsible for enforcing the gameplay loop & mechanics. This is equivalent to if stardew just paused at 1am and you could do everything to prepare for the next day. If you enjoy this feature, you're just using it as a crutch and spoiling the game for yourself.

I want to feel like time matters, and there to be consequences for misusing my time. I shouldn't have infinite time to mix, process, package, assign workers, buy goods, and do almost whatever I want at a 4am time freeze

The time freeze makes the game easier but some people enjoy it, just the way you don't, so any change to it should be an option in the menu.

Sometimes I play this while doing something else, when I'm doing this I appreciate the freeze.

Just sleep beforehand if you don't like it, it's not like plants grow, i suppose the only factor in it is the late night deals, which i don't do, just choose morning instead, though they do arrive hours early.

I see no reason the make things worse when i believe things can and should be improved first.

So you want to make the game worse for people, before it's improved upon? I understand it to a certain point, but the timing of the game isn't there, you literally don't have the time, and you just end up making it a chore for people, it's a chill game right now, i see no reason to make it harder just for your own benefit before it gets improved upon.

The whole assigning workers is a bit of a pain, you could spend days trying to organise it properly, just because of how it currently works... so the night time aspect just lets you do that, and everyone is still free to do it how the please...

again you're just making it worse for everyone else, while thats something you could easily avoid.

Again, you're just not understanding how mechanics and challenge work. You're rationalising bad design by pushing it onto the player. I hope you never design a videogame, because it would be trivially easy and boring.

Harder =/= worse

Correct pacing =/= worse

When you play for a few more hours and you realise how trivial the entire game is and you get bored I think you'll remember this and agree.

Self. Control. If you cannot stop yourself from optimizing the fun out of everything, that is Your. Problem.

You don't get to force your particular brand of dictatorial control over other users just because you don't like something.

That won't be the reason i get bored, it's due to the lack of late game content.. making it even more of a chore, making it so i have to run back and forth even more so, just to find the game still lacks content at the end of it, would make the whole of it worse rather than better.

You seriously need to get out more if you think making it harder rn is going to benefit the game any without more content than there is.

Sleeping actually makes the game easier. Harder to do every single deal that comes your way, but the more days that pass the more money customers spend. So sleeping = more money

"Any game with correctly flowing time is unfun dictatorial control"

Your take is so, so, so, so bad. You're huffing the 4am cope.

You've misunderstood the point of this thread. I'm talking about the pace of the game and questioning why it should freeze at 4am. It ruins the flow & pace of the game and cheapens the time system.
