difference in soil
is there literally any difference in soil besides them being 3x-6x more expensive for literally no reason other than if you wanna be lazy and not buy 3 separate bags of green

you're gonna bless blue soil when you have a million other errands to run later
More uses means less restocking and shelf space taken up.

If you are going to min max and you evaluate (wrongly) that your time is worth nothing, then yes, you'll buy the cheap soil bags.

As soon as you consider that your time and shelf space are worth something, the cheap soil bags are awful.

And once you have botanists taking care of growing plants, then min maxing makes you buy the expensive soil, it makes botanists that much better. They are slow and need every time saver you can provide them with.

But you could use the cheap soil forever and generate less $ per hour played. There's no rule against it, as long as you are having fun.

having only played the demo, it seems like the soil dispenser makes the cheap soil much quicker to use

Soil dispenser is slower to use than botanists tho. ;P

It makes ALL soil bags quicker to use.

In the full game, you get employees, including botanists that take care of plants. But the botanists can't use dispensers and sprinklers. So once you have employees, those 2 items are a waste of space and money with no real benefit.
Botanists don't use the soil dispenser. It is a big time saver for you though.

Less time wasted filling soil = more profits especially with automated 8 mix factory chains.

Yes, but the point being, cheaper soil has higher margins, and the major downside is having to spend time to pour it every day, dispenser makes pouring much quicker, reducing that downside, so it will save you money on soil. I think you can save the 300 on soil costs in a few days even.

When you do the math the margin gain is tiny.

12 buds per plant when using the pot + rack + light (tent gives 8).
1 harvest soil: $.83 per bud
2 harvest soil: $1.25 per bud
3 harvest soil: $1.66 per bud

Challenge initiated: Convince me to use triple the storage space for .83 per bud.

Using cheap soil just equals more time wasted needing to buy soil and replace and having the workers use it in the automated factory chains you build .. or heavens forbid, the you do yourself.

I wish I had Mega 5 X Soil, then my workers could spend more time harvesting.

To save $300 on soil, you need to use 30 green soil bags.
If you are using +/- 15 green bags per day (to use 30 over a couple days), you are way passed the point where the money saved is more important than time saved.

Also, that is to pay for a single dispenser. It makes no sense to have just 1 dispenser if you have 8 pots or more. So you'll need more than 2 days to pay them back.

And you're still not saving on trips to the store, not saving on storage space either.

See it this way. The blue soil costs $10 more per plant grown. Round that to $1 extra production cost per bud, but even less if you are using pots and/or red liquid boost. You are likely losing more than $1 per bud sold just by not listing them to the highest price that people will still buy them! :tta_smile_very_happy:

I love Blue Bag, but you also have to factor in if they are returning the bag to the recycling machine and getting money back. More bags is more cash. Just wanted to add the 2c but o well!
