Automate the drying process?
When i try to automate the drying process the person from the pot puts it in the input of the dryer rack. They don't actually hang it.

How can you automate this?

Does it have an output? And is the target quality higher than what you are growing?

If you fert weed which makes it purple, and don’t change the default quality on the rack (purple) it’s not going to do anything.

botanist has to dry it, treating drying process same as grow pots
Botanist has to dry it then you can use a handler to move it to where you want

What do you mean? I had the same issue as OP, the botanist would bring weed to the rack and put it in, but didn't actually hang it up even when a target quality was set.

I'm fairly certain the drying rack can be automated. You need to edit the rack itself with your notepad. It has an option on how long to dry based on the quality of your product. It can then be moved from the drying rack to another machine. with the botanist or you can have a handler do it.

Get a botanist and set them to handle only the dryers , then from the drying rack set where the product moves from them and the quality.

Ah that makes more sense. Just realised I need more than one chemist for my lab, I guess they all need multiples to get all the jobs done.
A single botanist can handle 8 work slots, between pots and drying racks. 4 pots and 4 racks make it even at the expense of space. That's 48 baggies or mixes per grow cycle, if using fertilizer. The dryers will be underutilized, but the numbers are odd, so don't matter.

I have 1 botanist do the pots and take it to the racks the another botanist assigned to the racks who will hang it dry it and remove it directly to the brick presses.

Works well.

The drying rack needs to be assigned like you do with a plant pot. Then the Botanist will operate it.
I still don't know what a botanist is doing to dry them. you would think drying them would just involve hanging them up and taking them down. so they basically hang them up and get paid to stand around?

basically yeah. you could also make it so all botanist do half pots half drying. if that makes you feel better xD however, most of my employees stand around more than working anyway.

Don't need a handler from the drying rack. Destination does this.
