Why is pong gone?
I loaded up my file just now, went to the tv to play a round of pong before bed, and it's just... gone. ;~;

Pray tell, did it have to get removed for copyright or somethin? How the heck is two sticks and a knot copyrightable? >:/

yea, I just noticed the same thing. Hopefully they are working on it to make it 2-player. Seeing as the console has 2 controllers.

Probably a copy write issue since Pong is a real game. If this game didn't blow up nobody would have noticed probably.

Yeah I just noticed, too. They also changed the name of the game Snake to "Noodle", so this suggests Pong was removed due to copyright issues. I'm sure we'll see something replace it soon.

Copyright claims are so stupid on anything more than 25 years old. Makes me want to boycott the claimants for life.

Fortunately boycotting Atari is pretty easy considering they haven't done anything worthwhile since 1985.
For the same reason Cuke is now in orange cans and the distinctive "Coke Flourish" has been swapped out for a more generic design....to sidestep any potential lawsuits for copyright infringement. I wouldn't be surprised if the dev had a lawyer give his game a good once over to avoid any potential future pitfalls. I know I would.

After all, the devs a big fish now in a bottomless sea of predators and parasites. If the game's sales were negligible, no one would care. But the game is a sensation garnering huge sales and publicity. He's already been (somewhat) threatened with legal action. Better safe than sorry.

Maybe it'll come back as "Dong", or something. In fact, Dong would be the perfect compliment to the testicle-sporting Egg in Egg Run.

This would be the ideal, especially with coop play.

I would. Copyrights were originally only meant to last like 10-20 years, but Disney's lobbyists (Among other Hollywood lobbyists, but Disney is BY FAR the biggest offender in how much they spent on it) kept getting congress to extend copyright over and over for decades to keep Steamboat Willie from falling out of copyright. Congress finally decided it had gotten completely ludicrous and stopped extending it, which is why Winnie the Pooh and Steamboat Willie fell out of copyright finally, but frankly I think we should go back to the original 10-20 year copyright.

also read that cans have been changed probably to not link back to the original products, like cuke cans and red balls ;P
This is normal stuff, dude is protecting himself against copyright claims, probably haven't thought he'd reach such a wide audience with it so he hadn't cared before. ^^''
