Asking people who play a game of a certain genre for other similar games with different themes is completely legit and rational to do. Its like going to a card shop and asking Magic the Gathering players what other card games are fun that maybe dont involve a certain aspect of MTG they dont like.

Or imagine going to a restaurant and you get in there and it looks nice but isnt the type of food you like so you ask the host what other restaurants are of the same level of quality but maybe dont have seafood or dont have a certain thing they dont like.

If someone went to a Megaman game forum and said "I don't like robots but I do like beating bosses for power-ups and progressions as a gameplay loop" The answers would be 'play Castlevania and Metroid' not "well this gameplay loop clearly isn't for you"

How hard of a concept is this to understand, honestly? I've gotten like 3 good, genuine replies and one good discussion out of 54 comments here.
