Game crashes with black screen after Serenity Island boss mission (cutscene bug?)

I’m currently experiencing a recurring crash in Infinity Nikki. While doing a boss mission on Serenity Island, the game crashed during what seemed like a cutscene.

Now, every time I launch the game, it tries to load into that same moment — the screen goes black as if starting a cutscene, and then the game crashes to desktop after a few seconds. I’m stuck in this crash loop and can’t progress at all.

I’ve already tried verifying files, restarting the game and my PC, but nothing has worked. It seems like my save is stuck trying to load a broken or corrupted cutscene.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

UPDATE: I just started my game again and it didn't crash, the cutscene ran perfectly!

I feel that has happened to me as well, I had to restart my steamdeck a couple times and then it worked, but I am noticing that as well

same thing. I'm monitoring "Game breaking bug 1.5" reddit topic rn. suggest you do the same or maybe wait for the hotfix, which should be soon, considering that a lot of players were affected

Yeah, I’ll probably just wait for the hotfix too. Hopefully it won’t take long.

Same problem. I reported the crash issues.

I had the same problem and the only fix I found was to load the game in Epic launcher. The cutscene worked fine in that version.
