literally says playing on steam deck not Pc
I was able to install on my OLED Steam Deck without issue. I'm wondering if this is a bug in their anti-cheat, as they don't allow installing on Linux desktops, only Steam Decks. They may be missing the hardware ID for the LCD Deck. I've been playing since launch on the Deck, but it's been OLED the whole time.
Almost certainly a detection of the anti-cheat 'trojan' I would say, it could be that it's wrongly detecting another running utility software.
Having the same exact issue.

Base Steam Deck OLED. No modifications.

It starts the download then tells me it "detected illegal software" and force quits.

Yep this issue still persists - can’t even repair any damaged resources or anything within the launcher
I’m having the same issue
the new steam OS beta seems to change enough stuff that it needs the devs to whitelist it again. you can revert to steam os stable i the meantime

That would explain why it suddenly stopped working for me again after less than a week.

When your copy protection is so severe that it considers the OPERATING SYSTEM ITSELF an issue, you're cutting off your nose to spite your face.

I've been playing it on the newer Limited Edition Steam Deck model with no issues. Also installed the base non-Steam version of the game on the Deck right after it was launched a few months ago with minimal trouble (just had to tweak the proton pack for the original non-Steam install).

I was playing on (OLED) steam deck as a "non-steam game" with no issues for a couple months, now that it's officially launched on steam, and an update that happened on the steam deck a few days ago, I get a driver missing message every time the game tries to launch (through my old non-steam method and the official through steam method)

Never seen any "illegal" message.

Did yours stop working a couple days ago with a steam deck update? The non-steam version?

This didn't change anything for me, I reverted from beta to stable, and then proceeded to launch through each proton option under the "force" setting, no dice.
