Black Screen when I press play
My screen is black when I press play. I know servers are in maintenance but shouldn't I get a login screen?

Dunno, still got ~3:15 to wait here.

Assuming Windows, does anything show on mouse hover over the Taskbar icon?
You usually get to the login, yes. But due to the big update this time, it may not be the case.

Update: Just went in because I thought the maintenance is over and I was logged in. No issues and I fixed my settings since dlss is available now. Try a repair from steam and then through the launcher as well. I will be playing on epic for a while longer before coming over to steam so I don't know how it launches yet.

The black screen typically indicates that Infinity Nikki is struggling to initialize correctly. Common causes include:

Corrupted or missing game files
Conflicts with background software (e.g., antivirus programs or overlays)
Outdated graphics drivers
Interference from overlay apps (like Discord or Steam)
In some cases, issues with system components like DirectX or the .NET Framework
Let’s dive into the most effective solutions to resolve this problem.

1. Optimize Graphics Settings
Capping your frame rate (FPS) and enabling V-Sync can stabilize performance and often resolve the black screen issue, especially on mid-to-high-end PCs.

Step 1: Launch Infinity Nikki and navigate to Graphics Settings
Step 2: Set the Frame Rate Cap to match your monitor’s refresh rate (e.g., 60, 144, or 240 FPS)
Step 3: Enable V-Sync (Vertical Synchronization)
Step 4: Save changes and restart the game

This approach prevents overloading the game’s rendering pipeline, which can cause instability and lead to the black screen problem.

2. Verify Game File Integrity
Corrupted or missing game files are a common culprit behind the black screen issue. Verifying file integrity can often resolve the problem without requiring a full reinstall.

Step 1: Open the Infinity Nikki launcher
Step 2: Click the options button next to “Start Game”
Step 3: Select “Repair” from the dropdown menu
Step 4: Click “Verify Now” to begin scanning for corrupted or missing files
Step 5: Allow the repair process to complete, then restart the game

This process scans your installation for errors and automatically replaces any damaged files.

3. Update Graphics Drivers
Outdated or improperly installed graphics drivers can prevent Infinity Nikki from initializing correctly. Keeping your GPU drivers up-to-date is crucial for optimal game performance.

For NVIDIA GPUs:

Step 1: Open NVIDIA GeForce Experience
Step 2: Navigate to the “Drivers” tab
Step 3: Click “Check for updates”
Step 4: If available, download and install the latest drivers

For AMD GPUs:

Step 1: Open AMD Radeon Software
Step 2: Go to the “Drivers” section
Step 3: Check for available updates
Step 4: Download and install if a new version is found

After updating, restart your computer and launch Infinity Nikki to test if the issue is resolved.

4. Switch to the Epic Games Launcher
Some players have reported success by launching Infinity Nikki through the Epic Games Launcher instead of the game’s official launcher. This can bypass certain compatibility issues.

Step 1: Install the Epic Games Launcher if you haven’t already
Step 2: Add Infinity Nikki to your Epic Games Library
Step 3: Launch the game directly through the Epic Games Launcher

This method can circumvent launcher-specific bugs or outdated dependencies that might be causing the black screen.

5. Disable Background Applications
Interference from other software can sometimes cause initialization problems for Infinity Nikki.

Step 1: Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager
Step 2: Look for resource-intensive applications or known conflicting software (e.g., overlay apps, performance monitoring tools)
Step 3: Select these applications and click “End Task”
Step 4: Launch Infinity Nikki and check if the black screen issue persists

6. Reinstall the Game
If all else fails, a clean reinstall of Infinity Nikki can resolve persistent issues by ensuring a fresh, uncorrupted game installation.

Step 1: Uninstall Infinity Nikki through your system’s control panel or settings
Step 2: Delete any remaining game folders to ensure a clean slate
Step 3: Restart your computer
Step 4: Re-download and install Infinity Nikki from your preferred game launcher
Step 5: Launch the game to see if the black screen issue is resolved

Additional Troubleshooting Tips
Ensure your system meets the minimum requirements for Infinity Nikki
Check for Windows updates and install any available patches
Temporarily disable antivirus software to rule out interference
Verify that DirectX and .NET Framework are up-to-date on your system

Updating the graphics drivers doesn't work at all. i am already running the latest drivers and it's still the same. I deleted the epicgames version and downloaded the steam version and it's still the same.

all the solutions are just too generic and doesn't work at all.

les derniers driver nvidia sont cassés avec le vsync ou gsync activé de l'input lag et des fps drops dans certains jeux je suis repassé a pilote precedent et le problem a corrigé
Since a few days I too have this issues (black screen after starting from the games launcher). After fresh start of the PC or a reboot the game is working (without fail), so I don't think it's on players side. Game worked normally until one of the recent Mini-Updates and I have not changed anything relevant (praphic-driver etc.) since it started.
I hope they will work it out. It's annoying to have to restart the PC to start the game, when any other game will run absolute normally.
Would recommend restarting the PC to all other people with this problem, rather then invest hours to seek some non-existing error on players side.

I did the fresh pc restart and it got hung up on the black screen, ended the task in task manager then rebooted the game and it launched perfectly fine, other times I don't have to reboot the pc and the game will launch fine without the black screen issue
I had the same issue but when I locked the frame rate too 120 or 60fps it worked hope this helps unlimited frame rate is bugged I think or it's the screen resolution
