The game cannot be updated. Stainless Games and Wizards of the Coast parted ways a few years ago. As such the game remains in the current playable state with no further changes.

WotC moved on to their in-house version Arena. But for many of it isn't a good fit so we refuse to change over to it.

Duels Of the Planeswalkers was the yearly version starting in 2011 and ended with 2015. Magic Duels was intended to be the ongoing version instead of standalone, but only covered 2016-2017 before WotC and Stainless split their partnership.

Because of them wanting people to dump money into Arena, these older games are no longer available to new players. They have been removed from the Steam Store from being purchasable.

How to collect more cards with the same name in Magic Duels?

The last update to Duels unlocked all cards it had available to the player base. You cannot collect more than it gave you.
