this game is completely GPU dependant. if i do the Benchmark Tool in it, my cpu is using 2%, GPU is using 99% of its potential (with a 3090).
so it's probably time to upgrade my friend.
and what newest games can you actualy play with this ancient processor? i'm really curious.
Released in 2011.
Released in 2016.
It's a miracle that any modern games still support your outdated hardware, even running at potato resolution. If you enjoy running games at 40fps, god bless you. But you're not getting the full experience as the game designers intended, and no one is going to make a new game backwards compatible for 14 year old hardware. ✌️

its really about time when you think about upgrading now. a later intel cpu even if its a lower skew part like 12400f or amd 7600 souldnt be a massive price to upgrade and gain alot of performance in the bargain:)
cant expect your old faithful to last forever sooner or later you need to take it out back and put it out of its missery.....
Keep fighting the good fight. And shame on the people who just say "Time to upgrade."
If developers don't want people to be able to play their game, then it's about time for them to go bankrupt.
I can't justify buying a whole new CPU just to play a mediocre game like Assassin's Creed 20.
MINIMUM:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
Processor: Intel® Core™ i7 8700k
Not sure why you thought a i7-2600k would work - that is 6 generations below the minimum spec required and, as you have now discovered, does not support AVX2
I have even run Mirage and Valhalla without issue so it feels a little unfair that this crops up now.
Edit: I ran benchmark tests to see of my rig meets requirements and they all said it passes. They also failed to mention a AVX2 cpu was a requirement.
