Pre-Ordered, and now, cannot even launch.
This is the third game within a year that once I bought the game either at launch, or about a week later, stops working because of "Launcher Updates" soon after that break the game. Rockstar, Ea, now Ubisoft. I can play every other Ubigame BUT shadows. Just acts like it is launching ubisoft connect, then quickly closes and the green play button comes back and nothing happens.


Looks like I'll be getting a full refund. I'm so sick of this nonsense! Ubisoft has become the prime example of why 3rd party launchers need to be banned from steam and devs need to either just deal with that, or not sell their games on the steam platform period. The fact they wanted as much as they did for a game, then ruin it's launch and ability to be played by at least half the customer base, at this point HAS TO BE INTENTIONAL to create more buzz on the game if it does not sell well.

I can tell you that the problem is not my system for sure. Every other one of your games work js, EXCEPT Shadows, and this same situation happened awhile ago with AC Unity were you had updated the launcher for that game specifically for some reason and right after that the game stopped launching all together. It would quickly show ubisoft connect window, then quickly close, followed by a shadow/silhouette of what would of been the same window popping up again real fast, but never fully does, then it closes and the green play button on steam comes back. I can take a video of what is occurring and post it to my youtube and post it here.

another issue is, the game pre-loaded on my system on the 17th I believe, and it unpacked itself two hours before 12am last night, and when i tried to play it it simply stated the ubisoft services could not be reached, and it would all close. since then, the game is still treated as a pre-loaded pre-ordered game here on my steam library, and you can even see this when i uninstall the game and reinstall it, it will jump up to %33, and then says unpacking while also installing the game? it's odd. I will post a video soon showing you what I mean.

Ok, so as i mentioned earlier, here is the video showing what is happening on my end, and it is happening to both Ubisoft Connect and Steam when trying to launch the game.

I also saw a post here in a screenshot that said you do not need the Ubisoft app to run the game outside of Steam, which is how I always had it, but I guess what caught my eye here is that it mentions there is a "Liter" version of the Ubisoft connect app that is embedded in thew steam install files for AC Shadows, so that must be what is causing the issue because all other games from Ubisoft work, AC Shadows is the only one that is not. https://i.redd.it/e5dyggl6weoe1.png Here is the screenshot. I am having this issue too, as are many others.
Same here bout to try one more time to get this working and if unsuccessful putting in a refund and buy it later when Microsoft or tencent buys out Ubi after it collapses

They certainly will collapse if they don't start answering these issues people are having.
