German language pack
Hello,

when I start Shadows, I can only select the English and Japanese versions (I have Steam running in German). For all other languages (including German), I get a message telling me that I have to download the corresponding language pack from the library first. However, there is no in-game option for this, nor are language packs offered in the DLC store on Steam.

If I look at the Ubisoft homepage, it says that language packs have to be downloaded from Ubisoft Connect (but that should only apply to the version that you buy there). Nevertheless, I looked in the Ubisoft Connect launcher, but I don't have any language packs in the settings either.

Where can I get the German language version?

Addition: the German language files seem to be missing in the Steam version.
I bought the Collector's Edition of Shadows in addition to Steam and it included a key for Ubisoft Connect. So I installed the game there too and have just started it - with German voice output.

I was able to copy the files from the Connect version into the Steam installation and now also have the German language in Steam. But maybe it would make sense to patch the files for other players on Steam ;)

Thank you for your messages and for sharing how you managed to download and add German language audio to your copy of Assassin's Creed Shadows.

We haven't seen such reports yet, however, we will keep an eye out for them and raise it with the appropriate team.

I apologise for the inconvenience but I'm glad you resolved it.
