thanks for reaching out.
I'm sorry to hear that you cannot launch the game due to an error message.
The first step I'd recommend doing is clearing the Ubisoft Connect cache.[ubi.li]
Ensure that you are launching the game and Ubisoft Connect/ Steam with admin rights.[ubi.li]
Please keep us updated on the situation.
Just wondering if Ubi developers can also help out a little on AC Mirage Support also. Mirage may be an old game but it's new to me.
It's worth mentioning that my operating system is Linux; Ubuntu 24 specifically. Since Shadows is a verified Steam Deck game, and SteamOS is a Linux, there shouldn't be any problem.
I've already tried clearing the Ubisoft Connect cache, and nothing changes. I have tried running other Ubisoft games on Steam and there is no problem, only Shadows gives the error.
SteamOS it is a Linux, but uses Debian 8.
Doesn't mean if a game works on Debian, it will work on Ubuntu.
SteamOS hasnt been Debian based for years, its Arch Linux now, which is one of the biggest reasons it is so popular. And if it was Debian based, it would work on Ubuntu, the core architecture is still there, that is what everything is designed around, not the derivatives.
Second, I'm using the driver 570.124.04 for my 3060 Ti. To update my NVIDIA drivers, y added a new repo and executed an update, look here: https://linuxconfig.org/how-to-install-nvidia-drivers-on-ubuntu-24-04
Then, I needed to apply PYROVEIL fix to avoid the freezing.
Look here for other solutions: https://www.protondb.com/app/3159330
As for me, I got the error message that's the focus of this thread after changing Proton once.
One question: I use this computer much more for home office than gaming. So, I don't want to put in place a nvidia driver that will cause problems with everyday use. Have your found your 570 driver to be stable or are there issues?
