Playing 1,5 hours, constant crashes
Like the title states, i've been playing for a good 1,5 to 2 hours now and frankly ive had 5 crashes now so far. Game freezing up or even causing multiple bsod's. I have installed the latest NVIDIA driver in the hopes that it would help but unfortunately no.

Ive already read online that the game is horrendously optimized for NVIDIA gpu's and stuff but still. This literally makes it unplayable.

It sucks, but i have to wait for an update/fix. Does anyone else have similar issues?

Im currently running:
9800X3D
RTX 4090
64GB DDR5 RAM

When I run game after a moment game exit to desktop. My fix what to disable synchonizing saves in Ubiconnect. Now game run without crashes. I think a problem was upload saves to cloud.

Just disable frame gen in your graphics settings ingame?
Can't get in-game to do so
Try deleting the game and redownloading it. then go into the game to change the settings?

tried it. ive done so many fixes that worked for others and nothing has worked for me. Down grading driver, delete and reinstall, run ubi in admin mode, run steam in admin, change things in firewall, delete saves, restart pc, try a different ubi acct, completely exit steam, ive found many ways and sadly none work for me

Rtx 4080 and 7800x3d. So I kept having consistent crashes too. I was able to start the game and play but the game (not whole pc) would keep crashing after around 10 minutes every time. I decided to try pausing my VPN for one hour. I was able to play that entire hour, when the timer was up it crashed again. Tried it again for 5 minutes. Crashed again after vpn reconnected. Maybe for some of you this might work. Seems like there’s multiple scenarios.
Edit: this is ubi connect version, if it matters.

I decided to request a refund for the game until a definitive solution or a patch is released. In the meantime, good luck to those still trying.

Hey guys, sorry to hear that you are encountering crashes that are sometimes resulting in a BSOD and sometimes closing Assassin's Creed Shadows down.

I can see a lot of posts here which include some system specs, would it be possible to share more details including the type of drive the game is installed on and graphics driver version?

For troubleshooting, I would also recommend completing the steps below.

- Ensure your PC meets all system requirements [www.ubisoft.com] for Assassin's Creed Shadows including using an SSD.
- Try to have both the game and Ubisoft Connect and Steam on the same drive
- Perform a clean boot [support.microsoft.com] to ensure that a 3rd party app is not interfering.
- Complete the steps in our dedicated troubleshooting guide [ubi.li]

Many thanks in advance

Hi Ubi-WheelyDuck, thank you for your attention in this case. I had this same problem in Valhalla, it only fixed when there was a bug fix patch, I've tried several ways to solve the problem and it didn't work, any forecast for the next patch?

I have rtx 4080 and amd 7800x3d. I am on the latest nvidia driver (572.83) and have the game, ubi connect and steam all on my SSD C:drive. I specifically play the ubi connect version, not through steam.

I believe my personal issue may be due to my VPN. When I start the game while my VPN is connected, the game will just shutdown and close after around 5-10 minutes into the game, every single time. No error message. However, if I pause (disconnect) the VPN for a specific time limit (I tried a 15 min time limit and one hour), the game will play just fine, but once the time limit is up and the VPN auto connects again, the game eventually crashes and shuts down again a few minutes after VPN reconnects. This is with NordVPN if it matters.
Will update if something changes or still happens without VPN.

Guys disable gsync globally on nvidia app it fixes it
Thanks. This worked for me
jumungous 23 de mar. às 9:29
Was also getting BSODs with a 7800X3D and a 4080 on 572.83 driver. Seems to me like a combination of frame gen and gsync. Gsync works if I disable frame gen before I quit the game and reenable after I load a save on next game launch. Alternatively, I can disable gsync altogether and launching the game with frame gen works just fine.

For those who are still having the crash problem, for me setting the PC clock to automatic solved the problem.

My GPU model is the RTX 3060 Ti. The game has crashed and closed unexpectedly twice for me, though not as severely as you described. The issue does seem to be a genuine game bug—some players never experience it, some (like me) encounter it once or twice, while others face frequent crashes as severe as yours. Hoping a patch releases soon to fix this.
