Where is my cd key???
i bought it here ...for some reason i need a code or key to open the game...canr find it

That happened when I played Origins recently. I think it was because I had to sign in to Ubi's new lite launcher for the first time. My fix was to literally shut everything down and try again. Once synced it restarted for me on the second try no cdkey needed.

Hi leblanksolomid! I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues launching AC Shadows. Please make sure that Ubisoft Connect is completely closed (and not running in the background). When it’s open and you try to launch the game for the first time, it thinks you’ve already played the game via Steam and will look for the license, prompting the activation key window.

I would therefore, advise to try the following:
  1. Make sure Steam and Ubisoft Connect are completely closed via the task manager.
  2. Launch Steam and then start the game.
  3. It should automatically open Ubisoft Connect for you, link the two platforms, activate the game’s license on your Ubisoft account, and launch the game without asking for a key.
PLEASE NOTE: Before you try the first step, ensure you are logged in with the correct Ubisoft account you want to use. Once activated, the game is bound to that account.

I purchased the game prior to it's supposed release at 10pm my time, however I did not receive any of the preorder content... I have since returned it due to this as Ubisoft support was no help... Is that something you would be able to help with?

When Launching the game ubisoft connect did not boot up for me and I'm stuck in a constant loop of launching the game over and over yet nothing happens

Hi, I have a problem that I can't open the game, every time I open Assasins creed shadows it only says Running on steam but the game doesn't actually open. I look everywhere for solution but still doesn't find anything.

I have also connected my steam account with Ubisoft Connect, but in my Ubisoft connect account Library I don't find that I have purchased Assasins Creed Shadows from steam, which should be directly connected ....


Is there a solution to this? because I have purchased all the games in the Assasins creed franchise but why is there a problem with Shadows? You can see my steam profile if you like i bought every assasins creed gamess
Please enlighten me.

I'm sorry for not getting to this thread sooner and sorry to hear that you had trouble accessing your copy of Assassin's Creed Shadows.

If you haven't resolved the issue yet, please note that most Ubisoft games purchased on Steam (Assassin's Creed Shadows included) do not require an activation key. Instead, a digital license is automatically linked to your Ubisoft account when you launch the game in Steam for the first time.

Once activated, the game cannot be linked to another Ubisoft account.

If you are asked again for an activation key, run both Ubisoft Connect and Steam clients with administrator rights[www.ubisoft.com]

Sometimes, you need to close Ubisoft Connect completely (not just minimize it to the system tray) and then launch the game from Steam to ensure the accounts link correctly.

Is this Steam account that you are using in this forum linked to your Ubisoft account?

You can check it on Ubisoft Account Management[account.ubisoft.com] website.

In Ubisoft Connect PC launcher app, there is an option - Account Linking - Remind me of account linking next time I launch a Steam game.

You can find it in Ubisoft Connect Settings > Other

Make sure it's checked.

Remember to launch both Steam and Ubisoft Connect as administrator.

I’ve done All the things that you have suggested my account is linked and everything but it’s still asking for a key any other information is greatly appreciated I bought the game today

Hey Soagie, thank you for kindly sharing this update. Sorry to hear that the steps previously provided have not helped.

For troubleshooting, would it be possible to try this a little differently? Please make sure that Ubisoft Connect is not launched and launch Steam using admin rights [ubi.li] ensuring in Steam you are using the correctly linked account.

In Steam, try to launch Assassin's Creed Shadows, it should then force Ubisoft Connect to launch and then link the game.

If you then continue to have trouble, I would recommend reaching out using the Ubisoft Support site [support.ubisoft.com] so we can take a closer look at what is happening

If we can ever help with anything else, just let us know
