cloud saves(?)
does ANYONE know if cloud saves just arent working or is it just me? cant seamlessly play on my desktop or steam deck after starting the game on my laptop because the game seemingly has no cloud saves at the moment.

edit: either it fixed itself or got fixed because of what i did. i turned cloud saves off on the system i have the saves on, launched the game and then saved the game in-game, exited the game normally and waited for it to completely close the game and ubisoft pop-ups, and then i turned cloud saves back on, booted, and then saved over the save again. it also turns out that the initial intro and startup of choosing your lang and subtitles happens even if u have a save. so go thru that setup and you should just be able to continue

I'm also having this issue :(
It seems that the game relies on Ubisoft Connect to do the cloud saves, and isn’t using Steamcloud saves. I was toying with this, switching between playing only on Deck in offline (airplane mode), GeForce Now, and Moonlight.

What I found is you have to save the game on the save that has a cloud icon to it, which is the Ubisoft Connect cloud save. GeForce Now seems to seamlessly update the game with the cloud save if I switch to GFN. However, this is provided that I connect my SteamDeck to hotspot to upload the Ubisoft cloud save.

On Moonlight however, I’d have to wait for my home PC to download the Ubisoft cloud save. If I click continue in the game menu, it just loads my local save. If I click Load Game however, I’ll see the Ubisoft Cloud save there and I’ll have to load that one to get the most updated save state I’m in.

Wish they’d just enable SteamCloud saves since that’s more seamless.

save issue
Same issue, started the game on my steam deck and I cant access the save on my PC. I am not starting a new game on my PC. Please fix this issue, as I want to play this on my PC as well.

It fixed itself for me. You still need to go thru the settings setup

The first time I tried to move my file from my Deck to my PC it flubbed and I had to redo like 3 hours of work. Ouch.

Since then my logout ritual has been manually saving on whatever device I'm playing on and fully shutting down the game, so like, quit via main menu on PC and Deck, then waiting at least 10 seconds for the Ubi launcher sync thing to pop up. Tho sometimes it doesn't, it's bizarre.

But I've been able to scuffle through the game that way

That's good! My save is still not showing on my PC. I tried the turning off cloud save and back on as well, still nothing. O well, hopefully they fix it, if not guess I will just play it on the deck.

I bought the game through the Ubisoft webpage and I am playing it on a PC and a Windows handheld, both connected to the internet and of course I am logged in to the Ubisoft account, I would not be able to play otherwise.

While savegames for AC Valhalla were synchronized, the ones for Shadows weren't during the last few days. Today I have to check again.


Edit: tested it. I made sure that the launcher stayed for a while after I quit the game, so it has enough time to upload the saves (there is no message or progress bar for it, is that intended?)

What's strange is that it DID actually sync, but it didn't include all savegames. The last one was not synced, but luckily I had one from a few minutes earlier (2 minutes difference between the saves, so it's definitly from the last session).
This happened in both directions, from PC to handheld and the other way around.
