Disk Read Error
Was updating assassins creed shadows and got a disk read error. Looked up online on what to do but all the troubleshooting methods aren't working. Anyone else have this issue and know of a solution?

Try doing a TRIM of your SSD and running a disk scan for integrity

Maybe your Disk is broken then
i'm having a similar problem after the update too! but mine's a disk write error... have you managed to fix yours?
I've had this twice. Disable your anti-virus for 10 minutes. In my case, it was preventing Steam from downloading and writing to the Shadow's folder to install updates.

I'm not OP, but i did try this as well as: reinstalling AC, repairing library, restarting computer, and a few others a developer/mod suggested i do... still no luck T_T

might have to see if steam will give me a refund even though i've played over an hour, i just can't update the game anymore

lol i'm at like.. 16 hours.. cuz i played a bunch before this update, hoping they patch this problem soon
I've been having this issue too, all started since the game updated around the 26th. I've just uninstalled & reinstalled it to a different drive. Now the game won't even launch! I try to click play, and it tries to start launching, and then just shows the play button again. I hate to say it as I've been waiting to play a Japanese AC game for ages, but this game is unplayable right now

Hello everyone!

I apologize for the long wait and I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing disc read errors. To resolve the issue, I recommend performing technical troubleshooting[ubi.li] and running a DISM/SFC [ubi.li]scan. Please also ensure that the game is installed on a fast enough SSD.

If the issue still persists, please provide us with screenshots or a video showing the error message.
