Something is swapping my weapon
I am not pressing R to swap my weapon but as I am playing and browsing steam forums in the middle my tanto keeps getting equipped over my katana.

Are you perhaps using double assassinations? Those equip the tanto automatically.

If it's the same bug I encountered, it has something to do with the combo/stance combat option in the menu. Once I turned it off, I could switch weapons and use my tools at will.

I am just going to unequip my second weapon for now or use something other than the short reach tanto. I couldn't find that setting you mentioned. Mine is already on auto and I cannot disable it.

Are you perhaps using double assassinations? Those equip the tanto automatically.

That must be it I am double assassinating a lot.

Then it's not a bug and working as intended, as the tanto is the second blade being used.
Just press R once the animation is finished. It won't show the hud, but you'll be back to the katana.

This game has an auto weapon switch feature after assassination, activities etc.
Realistic but kinda annoying at first.
Tanto is auto equiped after an assassination and random weapons after some Yasuke activities.
