I've done:
- Full uninstall and reinstall of both AC Shadows and Ubisoft Connect separately. Still crashes. Done the same thing but restarted after each before re-installing. Still crashes
- Full uninstall and reinstall of both AC Shadows and Ubisoft Connect at the same time, restart PC. Re-install and same crash.
- Both times during the uninstall of Ubisoft, I went to all known locations for files and deleted them, even the cache files in the App Data folder.
- I've moved/deleted all saves from Ubisoft and it still crashes
- I've disabled cloud sync in Ubisoft
- Gone in offline mode and deleted all save files/option files (Game will start and load the option screen but as soon as you confirm your options, the game crashes again)
- I've set and ran Ubisoft connect and AC Shadows exe files to both run as administrator. Still crashes, did individually, still crashes. I also check marked "Disable Full screen Optimizations" on both and individually and it still crashes.
My honest suspicion is that Ubisoft connect is the culprit. If the game had an issue, it would crash on startup but it's crashing trying to load info from Ubisoft. Others are having similar issues, some with more hours and some with less.
Edit: I'm also on Nvidia Driver 572.83, been running since I started the game.
Edit 2: I did a sfc and dism round in command prompt, still crashing.
- Also did a revo uninstall, re-installed Ubisoft and it's still crashing.
- Also reverted drivers back to 572.60

I’m sorry to hear that Assassin's Creed Shadows crashes on your PC.
I see you mentioned having a quite capable PC with the latest GPU drivers installed.
Please also note that an SSD storage drive is required. Ensure the SSD is not nearing its full capacity, leading to a significant performance degradation.
To minimise the game crashing or to enhance the performance of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, consider lowering the in-game graphics details, resolution, or ray tracing level.
If your device meets these requirements, please make sure you read and complete all the steps in our guide on troubleshooting technical issues on PC[www.ubisoft.com]
Above all, close all unnecessary third-party applications running in the background, especially third-party overlays, communicators, system tweak tools and monitoring software. Disabling background applications on PC[www.ubisoft.com]
If you use the Nvidia App to optimise the game, please reset it to default settings and try again.
If you overclock or undervolt your GPU or CPU, please reset the voltage to default settings for a test.
Reinstall supporting software[www.ubisoft.com].

On a different thread about this issue (https://steamcommunity.com/app/3159330/discussions/1/612032512885030186/) a developer name Ubi-Ineradicable posted the following fix that worked for me. After reconnecting to Ubisoft Connect as was able to regain access to my most recent manual and automatic cloud save, but lost all of my others:
- Delete all save files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\<UbisoftConnectID>\1081.
- Run Steam and Ubisoft Connect.
- Disconnect from the Internet.
- Launch the game.
- Play the game until an autosave file is created in C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\<UbisoftConnectID>\1081.
- When the autosave file is created, exit the game and reconnect to the Internet.
- When the game is restarted, you should be able to play normally.
