Game keeps crashing
I'm wondering if anyone is experiencing the same issue. For me, the game constantly crashes whenever I try to launch it, and I get the error: "Ubisoft Connect has detected an unrecoverable error and must shut down. Crash dump created at..." This error will pop up 4 times on my screen. I also experience an error where I can't launch the game at all and get an error from Ubisoft Connect that says "Failed to synchronize achievements".

When either of these happens, I have to completely restart my PC as I'm no longer able to open Ubisoft Connect or Steam.

I have updated my graphics drivers, completely uninstalled and reinstalled ubisoft connect at least 5 times, uninstalled and reinstalled Shadows on Steam 3 times, deleted the "Ubisoft Game Launcher" folder in my AppData folder all to no avail...

If anyone has any possible solutions I'd appreciate it. It'd be nice to be able to play a game I spent $70 on

PC issue for sure because my game runs fine. Never had a single problem except the controller settings somehow can't remember the recent changes.

What's your PC Specs?

like first hour game is fine can play around 60 - 90 fps with low setting, frame generation on. after one hour its getting stutter and sometimes crash. and now after mission that oda nobunaga took himselft that cutscene always crash and i cannot even play anymore -,-

I know that this maybe a solution but we shouldn't have to do this in order to get the game to run. I too am having this issue

- PC Specs (CPU, GPU, RAM, Windows version)
- Screen resolution and refresh rate
- GPU drivers version
- Are you using any third party antivirus/firewall?
- What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
- When does the crash happen?

I have the same issue, AORUS master 4090, 9800X3D, AORUS Z790 mobo, 64gb Gskill trident 6000mhz ram, newest windows version. 4k 120hz, newest nvidia gpu drivers, no extra antivirus, I have tried all “fixes” on the Ubisoft “help” pages, subreddit, megathread, various other places. I’ve been through controlled Folder access, whitelisted everything, deleted all Ubisoft game launcher folder, still crashed, delete and reinstall, still crashed, delete and reinstall ac shadows, still crashed. 3 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ days of this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! This happened immediately after y’all released the newest update for the game. Please help, I’m over not being able to play my game

Hey KrayZ,

I'm sorry to hear it.

Is there an error code when the game crashes?
Do you experience stuttering, freezing or FPS drops before the crash?
Does the game crash while playing or on launch?

Did you delete the game configuration file (ACShadows.ini) and the cache folder that are saved in your Documents > Assassin's Creed Shadows folder?

Do you have any mods installed or use any modified game files?
