Sound bug
Hi all,
Does anyone else experience the bug that the NPC's don't make a sounds? I see the subtitles but they just don't talk. I only hear background sounds. With every cutscene so far.

Hi! For me it's the opposite, I have the voices of the NPCs but no environmental sounds and no more music. During cutscenes or right now in the middle of combat. Disturbing.
me too

same
Dito.
Suddenly, you can only hear your own words.
Otherwise, no ambient sounds, NOTHING. A restart fixes it (temporarily).

Music is generally muted in Games... that's annoying.

some battle sounds are missing... some weapon sounds are missing... some character sounds are missing... the music just stops and doesn't start playing again... my god, what a ♥♥♥♥ :steamsad:

every second cutscene has 0 sounds except for the voice acting, which destroys the entire atmosphere... it's just ridiculous :er_angry:

This solution from another post fixed the bug for me:

I guess I found a fix. Open with a simple text editor the file "ACShadows.ini", located in the folder "C:\Users\*Username*\Documents\Assassin's Creed Shadows". There is the lines (for me "de-DE", because i play german):

[Language]
Client=de-DE
Text=de-DE
Sound=en-US
Subtitles=de-DE

change the 3rd line "Sound=en-US" to "Sound=de-DE". Looks like this now:

[Language]
Client=de-DE
Text=de-DE
Sound=de-DE
Subtitles=de-DE

Save file, done.

Bug is fixed now for me. If you play another language, you have to change the line "Sound=en-US" to something different then me ("Sound=jp-JP"?) or whatever the other lines show as language parameter. Sadly the change is gone after the game is closed, so you have to either write-protect the file "ACShadows.ini", or write the fix before every game start.
I play in Spanish and only have es-ES in client line, the others in en-US, how i can fix ti? to me don't work, i try to change it but... anything

Hi,
here's my experience:
I deleted the sound entry, and the system placed it last among the four [Language] entries. I played like this for about two hours and no longer experienced any sound dropouts.
I don't know how long this will last, but there will surely be a patch from Ubi soon; they're aware of the bug.

have you also made sure that the file is write-protected and hasn't been reset when you start the game again?
