Suddenly, you can only hear your own words.
Otherwise, no ambient sounds, NOTHING. A restart fixes it (temporarily).
Music is generally muted in Games... that's annoying.

I guess I found a fix. Open with a simple text editor the file "ACShadows.ini", located in the folder "C:\Users\*Username*\Documents\Assassin's Creed Shadows". There is the lines (for me "de-DE", because i play german):
[Language]
Client=de-DE
Text=de-DE
Sound=en-US
Subtitles=de-DE
change the 3rd line "Sound=en-US" to "Sound=de-DE". Looks like this now:
[Language]
Client=de-DE
Text=de-DE
Sound=de-DE
Subtitles=de-DE
Save file, done.
Bug is fixed now for me. If you play another language, you have to change the line "Sound=en-US" to something different then me ("Sound=jp-JP"?) or whatever the other lines show as language parameter. Sadly the change is gone after the game is closed, so you have to either write-protect the file "ACShadows.ini", or write the fix before every game start.
damn i try this.. if it works u saved my weekend and i report here again! love
edit: jeah it works fine, thanks dude!
Edit 2: nope won’t work for long.. if u call ur horse and wont hear the whistle its ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up again
here's my experience:
I deleted the sound entry, and the system placed it last among the four [Language] entries. I played like this for about two hours and no longer experienced any sound dropouts.
I don't know how long this will last, but there will surely be a patch from Ubi soon; they're aware of the bug.
have you also made sure that the file is write-protected and hasn't been reset when you start the game again?
Thanks, works perfectly
