DLSS Frame Generation doesn't work
Tried booting up the game today and my PC crashed and restarted on it's own twice during the shader compile or (something like that).

Searched about in online and it turns out that DLSS frame generation is the problem. I disabled the "Hardware accelerated GPU" setting from the windows displayed settings and the game booted just fine, but with this disabled the DLSS FG is completely gone from the game settings.

I downloaded the latest Nvidia drivers and now the DLSS FG just doesn't work no matter what I do.

Also, is it me, or does the game feel really choppy and 60fps? I tried playing with FG off and with DLSS set to balanced with everything maxed out but despite the 60fps mark it felt really laggy.

Ryzen 7 9800X3D
RTX 4080S
64GB RAM

You need to re-enable Hardware accelerated GPU Scheduling. DLSS frame gen relies on this to work.
frame gen works fine for me with the latest drivers and the game feels very responsive and fluid at 60fps without frame gen.

I already did that. But after installing the latest nvidia drivers the frame generation setting doesn't do anything at all, despite it being turned on in the settings.

Wipe your card using DDU.

i to am running a 4080 super and the only problem that i had in over 16 hours of play. was in the begging ubisoft connect was not opened. i would hit play on steam and it would say installing ubisoft connect then quit. i then open the ubi app the game still did not want to start. but i then closed out of steam and ubi app, then started steam then hit play. the game has been working since then with no problems. no crashing no lagging, stuttering my framegen works great as long as my fps is over 60 before enabling it. the game uses framegen version 310.2.1 which is the newest one. but dlss version is at 310.2 the newest version of dlss is 310.2.1. the doesn't use the newest dlss.

It randomly disappers for me and i have to restart like 10 times to get dlss and framegen back. At this point i'll just stop playing until this ♥♥♥♥ is fixed. So annoying

If you reset the driver settings on the AC Shadows profile in the Nvidia app, dlss framegen should always be there when you start the game. If you are not using the Nvidia app, just create a profile for the game in Nvidia Control Panel and reset the settings there. The drawback from this “fix” is that you for the most part have to reset the driver settings every time before you start the game, but it works and is less troublesome than having to exit and restart the game several times before it shows up.
the fix is to enable intel extreme profile in bios. It fixes the issue completely. It even enables the 4x frame gen option for the 5090

Hi All.

I know it may seem strange but if your using a controller try booting up the game with your controller fully powered off and disconnected from your computer. Everytime i launch the game this way DLSS Frame gen is visible. If i start the game with my Xbox Elite controller on then DLSS Frame gen is missing.

Very odd indeed and not sure if that is just happening to me but worth a shot :D. I had a similar issue with Call of Duty if my controller was powered on
Frame generation might just be bugged for your specific build. I had the same thing happen to me in STALKER2. I had a memory leak if I used it. I had to run it with it off and rely on raw raster. It depends on how well the developers implement it, and given the insane number of pc build permutations a lot of it misses the mark.

EDIT: You actually have a terribly similar build. I don't have this game to troubleshoot, but I'm also running a 9800x3d with a 4080 super, just with only 48gb RAM. We're in an odd position of mixing AMD CPU with NVIDIA GPU. If you feel comfortable that you won't totally lose access to your system doing so, it's worth a shot seeing how changing your AMD integrated graphics settings play with your overall system. Reinstalling Adrenalin as driver-only or even perhaps disabling integrated graphics altogether may have an effect, as I've heard they do not play well together. But you do so at your own risk, if your GPU ever goes out with integrated graphics disabled you would be dead in the water.

OMG, really works. Thanks
Turning DLSS Override on and off for the game in Nvidia App also works. It's the strangest race condition. I wonder what is ultimately causing it.
