DLSS Framegen is absolutely broken af!!
Sorry to hear that you do not get the DLSS option available to you. This is something that the team is currently investigating and in the meantime we can only recommend rebooting Assassin's Creed Shadows as this can cause it to become available. This is by no means a permanent solution but as soon as we have an update for that we will be happy to let players know.
Regarding the game crashing when you have a controller connected, can I check exactly what controller you are using and its method of connection?
Does this persist if you disable Steam controller input? To disable Steam Controller input, right-click Assassin's Creed Shadows in your Steam library, go to "Properties," select "Controller," and set "Steam Input" to "Forced Off".
Many thanks in advance
"Use different settings for each DLSS technology then set Super Resolution to Latest and if you have a 4000 series set Frame Gen to Latest
The Nvidia App isn't loading the Nvidia game profile correctly which would normally set the DLSS 4 Overrides automatically so until they fix it you need to set it manually. In your older games that use DLSS you can also set the Overrides and really should because DLSS 4 Transformer model is considerably better than the old DLSS 2 and 3 CNN model for Super Resolution and Frame Gen.
The nice thing about doing it this way is the DLSS DLLs come with the Nvidia App so you always have the latest DLLs available for all your games and no longer need to download a new DLL and upgrade every single game with DLSS.
One thing I noticed that is strange is they put all the DLSS DLL's in \Assassin's Creed Shadows\NVStreamline\production\ when in every other game I've seen has them in the same folder as the game EXE or in this case \Assassin's Creed Shadows\
The game acts as if it is having a hard time finding them since they are buried 2 more folders deeper than normal. However setting the DLSS Overrides is a better solution because it means you'll always have the latest DLLs available and there are going to be some big gains gotten with the new Transformer model over the next year as they feed it with more and more training data so it will likely be updated and improved monthly
I have a 50 series and the option to switch to "Latest"under Super Resolution doesnt show up. It just gives me 3 options:
1) Use the 3D application settings
2) DLAA
3) Ultra Performance
Hey Dev, if you disable the 'Steam Input' in the Steam game properties i.e. let the game talk directly to your preferred controller, the DLSS option becomes available in both upscaling and frame gen (at least it does for me). Easy to replicate, can confirm I haven't had an issue with DLSS since disabling Steam Input.
Added bonus, the Playstation controller UI now appears in the game for me.
yep this works for me too, thanks
