Might yust be me though who finds these games graphically to different. Maybe they did get some inspiration from raganrok.. who knows. All i can say is that everything in this game is nicely drawn/created for this game, no pre-made stuff/assets as far as i could see really.

(just zoom in a little)
I think it's tough to really look at a game these days and not see others in there to some degree. (e.g Dragon Age 3 vs Witcher 3)
Don't worry though, we handcrafted those art assets by ourselves. ;)
It should be apparent on battle sprites, although the art direction is similar, the proportion and things are pretty different.
If anyone interested in links, we already answer some of your question on zero-friction.net a while back : http://www.zero-friction.net/2015/07/23/rpg-celestian-tales-old-north-developer-interview/
Way too much "inspiration." They're just modified RO sprites.
Just chiming in to clear up any confusions. Our sprites are indeed inspired by Ragnarok sprites, but are not modifications.
Pixel arts have a specific characteristic: they are pixel-perfect. If you enlarge them with bicubic interpolation, the colours of each pixel will be broken into gradations and the resulting image is not anymore like pixel art. If you enlarge them with nearest neighbour interpolation, the pixel replacements will be so broken you'd rather start from scratch. Since our sprites' size are far larger than RO, modifying RO sprites instead of making them is merely shooting ourselves in the foot. Not to mention the differences in cloth shapes and textures and the animation frames.
Of course, because RO's style became our basis in making the assets, our sprites ended up resembling them in some aspects. In a way we're proud of being compared to Ragnarok as it means we made the assets as good as they did ;)
The link above claiming this game is a rip off,. linked to an imgur, well, I'm sorry, but it's really obvious this game's sprites aren't a rip-off. You can tell the distinct differences, and not to mention the size difference.
I was here for Limbo of the Lost, I think I don't need to explain how difficult it is to get away with carbon copying assets from Ragnarok Online. :)
As an Aside, I did play Runescape before it was cool, or even known, in 2000. 2d beta for the win. :)
Really?
I mean, everyone forgot about this thread....
Also, if you bothered, the comparisons make it obvious it's not a rip off of RO in any way shape or form.
