how often do we see early access games, the good ones, actually take 1 year or less in early access?
yes, the developers were greedy. They realized they needed money to continue development and their choices was either to take Epic's money so they can afford to pay their employees and continue development or sell themselves off and lose their independence and control of the creative process of the game.
how dare these greedy people care about their employees pay and livelihood and the creative integrity of their game.
I can understand those who prefer the DRM-free environment of GOG, but Epic... you must trolling.
I decided to not support third-party storefront exclusivity because I was a Phoenix Point backer and many of us successfully funded the game for a Steam key. After the kickstarter was successful and Phoenix Point got all the backer money, EGS comes in and suddenly, the Steam key I paid for is replaced by an EGS key which I do not want and is not what I helped fund the game for. So out of the blue, the terms changed from under me and now I have to wait a year to play a game I helped fund on the platform they promised me they'd release on day 1.
Now, I don't begrudge indie devs the decision to go EGS, especially since I assume WItchfire was able to get in for the old EGS minimum sales guarantee instead of the new "First Run" deal EGS is using now which is just awful for indies. I just don't want to support the way EGS wants to compete in bad faith. I am against storefront exclusivity on PC. Valve has way more money than Epic and I am glad Steam didn't just follow what EGS is doing and use their Steam money to buy exclusives to keep games away from other storefronts like say, GOG. Barring first-party games, I believe people should be able to buy the games they want in their storefront of choice on day 1 without timed exclusivity.
For people like me who are against EGS exclusives, it's pointless to argue our point to people who don't share the same advocacy. Just ignore the game on the Steam storefront which would reflect on metrics and suppress the game from being recommended and we can then move on. Let the people who don't care about exclusivity enjoy the game in peace.
EGS is a failed storefront regardless of what we do so there's no point in arguing with anyone. The Fortnite money is already drying up which is why they replaced the old minimum sales guarantee with the new First Run terms. EGS will fall further into obscurity on it's own.
Jesus my guy, just don't buy the game. Your take is trash.
Good news for fans? The Steam version recognizes your Epic Games save file.
Grow up.
you are pretty intelligent, but your ego hinders your intelligence majorly, id guesstimate it reduces your overall IQ by at least 35 pts.
I just saw the game and went to the forums to see if people are saying anything about bugs and stuff and found that it was an EGS exclusive. I just replied to the guy because I thought he really wanted to know why there are people who don't like EGS exclusives.
Anyway, have a good day and enjoy the game!
For everyone else that don't like EGS exclusives, just ignore the game on the storefront and be on your way. There's no need to post and argue with people. :D
I recognize your disappointment and inability to cope with changes and the difficulty of integrating, but I also want to include people believe in fictional/mythological characters too.
your belief is pithy and shallow at best, and its surrounded by an intelligent lexicon. this is indicative of a person lacking XP in the AGE bar of life. I suggest you wait to experience more time and real life before pushing your inadequate beliefs on others, not dissimilar to what I would tell a religious preacher of any faith. keep your shallowness to yourself.
priority and availability fuels competition, and competition is what keeps the free market thriving and good for consumers. you follow your belief with praise for Steams ability to do business a certain way regardless of their bank account, without realizing your entire belief/argument is basically hypocrisy of what creates Steam and their will to do business that way in the first place, competition. You masquerade a storefront for all, encouraging competition, but then damn entrepreneurial decisions that fuel competition, like exclusivity for example.
just the prattle of a young person is how it comes off.
you want the joys of a free market, of a strip mine, but then simultaneously want to complain when someone ELSE benefits from it different than your typical loyalties. Its basic jingoism psychologically embedded. You dont love the free market, you just love what you love, but your ego literally adds false layers of "trueness" to your choices so you feel more justified, because for some reason, you and BILLIONS of others cope through life this way. a mystery trule.
